A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Luta is an adjustable recessed inground uplighter with a 316 stainless steel cover on an aluminium body, and this listing sells the round part, HV1825T. It drops into a canister set below ground level and finishes flush behind a clear glass face. ⚠ Havit rates it trafficable to 500 kg — foot traffic and a light domestic vehicle, and materially less than the 1000 kg of Havit’s Klip and Toldo inground ranges, so check the load before you put it under a driveway a heavy vehicle will use.
⛔ Unlike most of Havit’s inground range, the Luta is not a built-in LED fitting. It has an MR16 lamp base and ships with a 5 W tri-colour MR16 globe fitted. That globe produces 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K through a 120° beam at CRI >80 — so those figures describe the light as it is supplied, and the beam angle is set by whichever globe is in it, not by the fitting. Havit’s ceiling is 20 W MR16, and the fitting’s own lamp expectancy is >30,000hrs.
⚠ The tri-colour selector is on the side of the globe, not on the fitting. Havit’s step 10 has you unscrew the 4 nuts, remove a C-clip and ease the globe out to reach it. It leaves the factory on 3000K, so ⛔ set the colour temperature before it goes into the ground. The head tilts up to 30°, so you can aim it at a wall or a tree.
This is a 12 V DC constant-voltage fitting, so it runs from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver. ⛔ It must not be connected directly to 240 V. It is Protection Class III — low voltage, no earthing required, which all three of Havit’s current documents state the same way. Fittings are wired in parallel, and the supply reaching each one has to stay within ±5% of the rated voltage or the warranty is void — volt drop on a long garden run is the usual reason that limit is missed.
Havit’s drawing gives the cutout with the canister as Ø104 mm. ⛔ Drainage below the canister is a warranty condition, not a suggestion: Havit asks for a 100 mm space beneath the canister and 100–150 mm of crushed rock below that, and states plainly that where no drainage is allowed the warranty will be voided. The canister must finish level with the ground — failure to do so voids the warranty in its own right. The anti-syphon plug and the male and female connector on the 300 mm tail must both stay on the cable; every o-ring and seal has to be seated, joins soldered and covered watertight, and silicone run around the edge. It is IP67 and IK10. ⚠ 316 stainless still needs regular cleaning to stop tea staining forming, and tea staining is not covered by the warranty — Havit’s HV9971 kit is made for that job. Havit’s HV9507 and HV9508 tri-colour MR16 globes are the listed replacements. At Lights For You we built this page from Havit’s current HV1825T data sheet and its FEB24 installation instructions, which state a 3 Years Replacement Warranty.
Only lightly. Havit rates the Luta at 500 kg trafficable, with an IK10 impact rating. ⚠ That is half the 1000 kg of Havit’s Klip and Toldo inground fittings, so for a driveway carrying a heavy vehicle choose one of those instead. The canister also has to be set level with the finished surface, which Havit makes a warranty condition on its own.
Yes to both. It ships with a 5 W tri-colour MR16 globe fitted, and the base is a standard MR16, so the globe is replaceable up to Havit’s ceiling of 20 W MR16. ⚠ Because the globe produces the light, the lumen figures and the 120° beam on this page describe the supplied globe — fit a different one and both change.
The switch is on the side of the globe, not on the fitting. Unscrew the 4 nuts on the back, remove the C-clip, ease the globe out by its outer rim, move the switch to 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, then refit the globe and the C-clip and retighten the nuts with the seals in place. ⛔ Do this before the fitting goes into the ground — it leaves the factory on 3000K.
⚠ Not with the globe it comes with. Havit records the Luta as not dimmable with the supplied globe — which is a statement about that globe, not about the fitting, because the MR16 base is replaceable. If you need a dimmed circuit, tell us the driver and dimmer you intend to use and we will check the combination with you before you buy rather than guess.
Havit’s drawing gives the cutout with the canister as Ø104 mm. ⚠ The same drawing carries two further figures under a single without canister label with nothing saying which is the hole and which is the face, so we have not published those — open the dimension drawing in the Data Sheet & Manual panel before you cut.
Yes — a 12 V DC LED driver. It must not be connected directly to 240 V. Fittings run in parallel, and the voltage arriving at each one has to stay within ±5% of rated or the warranty is void, so size the driver and the cable for the whole run rather than for one light.
Four things Havit names explicitly: adequate drainage beneath the canister, the canister set level with the ground, all connections soldered and sealed watertight, and every o-ring and seal in place. The anti-syphon plug and the male and female connector must stay fitted, and tea staining on the 316 stainless is not covered, so clean it regularly.
