The Otaner is an 800 mm surface-mounted bollard with a tri-colour built in LED, in poly powder coated black aluminium behind a clear and opal glass diffuser. It runs on 240 V AC mains, and the colour temperature is selected inside the head at installation rather than from a remote or an app.
This bollard is IP54 and IK04, both lower than people assume of an outdoor fitting. IP54 is a splash rating, not a jet rating: dust protected and protected against water splashing from any direction, but not rated for a hose aimed at it or for ground that holds water after rain. IK04 sits near the bottom of the IK01–IK10 impact scale. A bollard lives at shin height in a garden bed, exactly where a mower deck, a wheelbarrow wheel and a line trimmer all pass. Site it where it will be walked past rather than knocked, out of the line of a sprinkler head, and off ground that puddles.
The LED is built in, so there is no globe to buy and no socket to match. It draws 10 W and is tri-colour: 3000K at 610 lm, 4000K at 620 lm and 5500K at 615 lm. The output barely moves across that range, so the choice is about the character of the light — and 4000K is the brightest of the three, not the coolest. The spread is 120° and colour rendering is CRI >80. It leaves the factory set to 3000K; to change it, Havit's instruction is to remove the top by twisting anti-clockwise, move the switch located on the PCB, then twist the cover back with the seals still in place. ⚠ And this fitting is not dimmable, so plan the circuit accordingly.
Input is 240 V AC and it is Protection Class 1, so an earth is required. Havit requires installation by a qualified electrician in accordance with AS/NZS 3000, and fittings are wired in parallel. There is no driver and no transformer anywhere in this product. Two conditions on the fitting's IP-rated junction box carry warranty consequences: if your cable is not circular you must fix the cable entry to maintain the IP rating, and all o-rings and seals must be in place.
It is ground — surface mounted, and the base plate must be installed on concrete or a concrete pad. It must not be installed under ground level. Havit requires that all holes including the cable entry are siliconed and that silicone is also applied around the fitting at ground level, stating that failure to do this will void the warranty. One more is easy to miss: the screws supplied are mild steel and must be replaced with a higher grade where they may be affected by water, which in a garden bed is likely. On siting, Havit's wording is that aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments, and this bollard is aluminium.
Lights For You takes these figures for HV1691T-BLK-240V from the HV1691T data sheet (AUG24), the shared HV1691T/HV1692W installation instructions (SEP24), and Havit's own page for this part number, which states a 3 Years Replacement Warranty for items ordered after 01/01/22.
No. The LED is built in — there is no lamp holder and no globe to match. It draws 10 W and the light source is part of the fitting, which is why there is no maximum-globe-wattage figure on this page.
Inside the head, once. Havit's instruction for this model is that the colour temperature is set to 3000K from the factory, and to change it you remove the top by twisting anti-clockwise and move the switch located on the PCB, then twist the cover back on with the seals still in place. The three settings are 3000K, 4000K and 5500K. Do it at installation rather than later.
No. Havit lists this fitting as not dimmable. Wiring it to a dimmer circuit is not something the specification supports, so treat it as a switched circuit.
It depends entirely on where it goes. IP54 is a splash rating — dust protected, and protected against water splashing from any direction. It is not a jet rating, so it is not intended for a hose pointed at it, and it is not for ground that holds water. Sited under eaves, along a path or in a bed that drains, it is fine; in the fall line of a sprinkler or in a hollow that puddles, specify something higher.
Not very, and it is worth knowing before you site it. IK04 is near the bottom of the IK01–IK10 impact scale. This is a fitting at shin height, so keep it clear of the line a mower, a wheelbarrow or a line trimmer takes. Being brushed past is fine; being struck is what the rating is telling you about.
4000K, at 620 lm. 3000K gives 610 lm and 5500K gives 615 lm, so the three are within about 10 lumens of each other. Choose on the character of the light rather than on output: 3000K is a warm domestic white, 5500K is a cool daylight white, and 4000K sits between them. Installation also matters — it needs a qualified electrician working to AS/NZS 3000, an earth, a concrete or concrete-pad base, and siting above ground level.
Havit's wording is that aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments, and this bollard is aluminium. That is a firm "must not" rather than a recommendation, so within 5 km of the sea you should be specifying a 316 stainless fitting instead.
