Fedor Square Aluminium Black Tri Colour

The Fedor Square at 925 mm is the tallest fitting in this family — a 120 mm square post in poly powder-coated black aluminium, with a sealed 12 W tri-colour built-in LED behind a clear Perspex diffuser and a 1 directional 60° output. It is the combination to reach for when you want both the squared profile and enough height to clear planting along a driveway or entry path.

It is the brightest of the four, and the shape is why

Havit gives this body 770 lm at 3000K, 780 lm at 4000K and 775 lm at 5500K. The round Fedors run 610 lm to 620 lm on the same 12 W, so the square is the brighter body — and the 525 mm square carries these same figures, which means the extra height buys reach rather than light. 4000K is the brightest of the three settings, so output does not climb as the colour temperature rises.

Mains or low voltage, decided by the part number

HV1631T-BLK-240V-SQ is a 240 V AC mains fitting and Protection Class 1, wired with an earth and the earth connected first. HV1631T-BLK-24V-SQ is 24 V DC and Protection Class 3 — Havit records it as no earth required — and runs from a suitable 24 V DC LED driver, with the supply reaching the fitting held inside ±5% of the voltage required or the warranty is void. Both are installed by an electrician working to AS/NZS 3000, and where several run from one circuit they are wired in parallel.

No globe, no dimming, and the quality figures

The engine is sealed into the fitting: built-in LED, no lamp holder, no socket, so there is nothing to replace and no maximum globe wattage to work to. It is not dimmable. Colour rendering is CRI >80, with SDCM <5 and UGR <12, and lamp expectancy is >30,000hrs.

Selecting the colour temperature

It leaves the factory on 3000K. Loosen the allen screws on the side, lift the top off, move the switch on the underside of the top to 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, and refit the top with its seals seated so water cannot get past them.

IP65 and IK08, and the one place it must not go

The body is IP65 for weather and IK08 for impact on the IK01–IK10 scale. Havit states that aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments, and this is an aluminium fitting, so that is a condition on the warranty and not a preference.

Mounting a tall bollard properly

The base plate fixes to concrete or a concrete pad and the fitting must not be installed under ground level. Silicone every hole including the cable entry and around the fitting at ground level, keep the o-rings and seals in place, and fix the cable entry if your cable is not circular. The screws supplied are mild steel: on a post this tall it is worth replacing them with a higher grade wherever water can reach them, because the leverage on the base plate is greater than on the short version.
