A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
This is the Maxi 900 in bare 316 stainless steel — the same 900 mm surface-mounted bollard and the same frosted diffuser as the black version, with the metal left visible. It is sold at one price in two electrical versions, and you choose between them by part number.
316 is the most corrosion-resistant metal in this range, and that is exactly why the finish is left bare. Havit's own advice for this SKU is to maintain it every six months, or more frequently in coastal environments, to preserve appearance and warranty, and it recommends its HV9971 maintenance kit for the job. The reason is tea staining — the brown surface bloom stainless develops when airborne salts and grime are left on it — and Havit is explicit that tea staining is not covered by warranty. None of that makes the fitting fragile; it makes it a fitting with a cleaning schedule. If nobody is going to clean it, the poly powder coated black version of the same bollard is the easier choice.
HV1608T-SS316-240V is 240 V AC, takes a 9 W E27 globe, gives 700 lm / 720 lm / 740 lm, is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth. HV1608T-SS316-12V is 12 V DC off a suitable 12 V DC LED driver, takes a 5 W MR16 globe, gives 270 lm / 285 lm / 300 lm, and is Class 3 with no earth. On the 12 V version two Havit warranty conditions travel with the supply: voltage at the fitting within ±5%, and no more than 25 m between fitting and LED driver. Multiple fittings on one driver are wired in parallel. Havit's HV9507 and HV9508 tri-colour MR16 drivers are the ones it lists for this range.
Colour temperature is tri-colour — 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, selected on a switch on the side of the globe once the cover is twisted off anti-clockwise; it ships on 3000K. The globes supplied are 120°, and a replacement globe sets its own beam. Havit caps the fitting at a maximum globe wattage of 15 W, LED globes only, which leaves headroom above the supplied lamp and none at all for a halogen. It is not dimmable with the globes supplied. Lamp expectancy is >30,000hrs and CRI is >80.
900 mm tall, Ø102 mm, on a Ø98 mm base plate with four Ø6 mm fixing holes and a Ø16 mm cable entry. Surface mounted onto concrete or a concrete pad, never below finished ground level; every hole siliconed and silicone run around the fitting at ground level, which Havit makes a warranty condition rather than a recommendation. All o-rings and seals must be in place. HV1607 is the optional spike. It is IP54 and IK08. Lights For You publishes these figures for HV1608T-SS316 from the HV1608 APR24 data sheet, Havit's 12 V and 240 V installation instructions and the supplier's own maintenance advice for the bare stainless finish, with Havit's 3 Years Replacement warranty on items ordered after 01/01/22.
Havit's own page for this SKU says every six months, and more frequently in coastal environments, using its HV9971 maintenance kit. It is a wash and a wipe, not a restoration. Skipping it does not make the fitting fail, but it lets tea staining develop, and Havit states plainly that tea staining is not covered by warranty.
They are the same bollard, the same output and the same price. Take bare 316 stainless if you want the metal visible and you will keep to the cleaning schedule. Take poly powder coated black if you would rather it disappear into planting, or if nobody is going to maintain it.
The 240 V AC version — it is Protection Class 1, and Havit's wiring order is earth first, then live and neutral. The 12 V DC version is Class 3 and needs no earth, but must not be connected directly to 240 V.
Yes, on the 12 V DC version. Wire them in parallel, size the driver for the total load, and keep each fitting within 25 m of it with the voltage at the fitting inside ±5%. Both are Havit warranty conditions rather than guidance.
A 9 W E27 for the 240 V version or a 5 W MR16 for the 12 V, up to Havit's ceiling of 15 W, LED globes only. Check the beam angle of whatever you buy — the supplied globes are 120°, and the replacement decides the spread, not the fitting.
Not with the globes supplied. Havit records it as No — not with supplied globes, which points at the lamp rather than the fitting, so we will not promise that a dimmable globe would change the answer.
900 mm tall and Ø102 mm, on a Ø98 mm base plate with four Ø6 mm fixing holes and a Ø16 mm cable entry. It must be fixed to concrete or a concrete pad and must not sit below finished ground level. If you would rather spike it into soil, Havit's HV1607 is the accessory for that.
