Oasis Black 7w LED Garden

Oasis 7 W is the middle of the Oasis garden spike family and the version most gardens actually want — up to 595 lm through a 36° beam, on a 260 mm spike in black powder-coated aluminium. The 12 W version is built for tall trees and two-storey facades; at 7 W this one has the reach for a established tree of ordinary size, a garden wall or a pergola post without turning a suburban backyard into a car park. Between the beam width and the output, it is a spotlight rather than a wash: pick a subject and aim it.

The decision that matters: this is a 12 V fitting

Oasis 7 W requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V — doing so destroys the fitting on the spot and is outside the warranty. Keep each fitting within 25 m of its driver: that is a warranty condition, and it is also where voltage drop starts to be visible as the far end of a run going dim. Total the wattage of every fitting on the circuit and size the driver with headroom.

Specifying it

Tri-colour selectable at install, and the product's own table gives 560 lm at 3000K, 580 lm at 4000K and 595 lm at 5500K from the built-in 7 W LED. Choose one temperature for the whole garden — 3000K on foliage and brick, 5500K on render and stone if you want it crisper. Single adjustable head with 90° of tilt, so the aim can be corrected once the spike is driven in, and a 1 metre reinforced cable is supplied. The LED is built in: no globe is needed and none can be fitted. Clear polycarbonate diffuser, IP65 for direct rain, sprinklers and hose-down, IK08 impact rating, and class III low-voltage construction so no earth is required at the fitting.
