A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
This is the expensive Tivah, and the reason is the metal. HV1195T is solid brass with an antique finish, not brass-coloured coating over aluminium, which is why it costs roughly two and a half times the aluminium version of the identical shape. What you buy with that is a fitting that has no coating to fail: brass corrodes to a stable surface rather than blistering, and it keeps going in conditions that strip powder coat.
An antique brass finish is a starting condition, not a permanent one. Outdoors it deepens, picks up darker tones in the recesses and stays brighter on the edges that get handled or rained on. Some owners polish it back; most leave it. If you want a fitting that looks identical in ten years, this is the wrong metal — the powder-coated aluminium Tivah in silver or titanium holds its appearance. If you want one that looks better, this is the right one.
The beam angle is a property of the globe rather than the housing, so it is changeable later within Havit's limits of 35 W on 240 V GU10 and 20 W on 12 V MR16.
The rating is IP65, so an open wall or pillar with nothing above it is fine. The restriction that matters on the rest of this range does not apply here: Havit's installation sheet excludes aluminium and 304 stainless fittings from sites within 5 km of salt water, and solid brass is neither of those. That makes this — along with the 316 stainless version — one of the two Tivah finishes without that limitation, which is often the whole reason it gets specified.
On the 12 V variant, keep the fitting within 25 m of its driver and the supply within ±5%. Wiring is parallel, CRI is above 80, and the warranty is 3 years replacement.
This listing sells more than one supply, and the earthing requirement is not the same on both. Check which part number you are wiring before you start.
Solid brass. Havit’s datasheet gives the material as solid brass with an antique brass finish — there is no aluminium under it, which is why it is priced well above the coated versions.
No. Antique brass darkens and deepens outdoors, unevenly, faster on sheltered faces than on washed ones. Most people want that; if you do not, choose the powder-coated silver or titanium Tivah instead.
Yes. Havit’s 5 km salt-water exclusion names aluminium and 304 stainless fittings, and this one is neither. It and the 316 stainless model are the two finishes in the range without that restriction.
HV1195T, because the 9-in-1 globe supplied with it is Triac dimmable. HV1197GU10T and HV1197MR16T ship with fixed 5 W globes that are not.
HV1195T is 60°, a defined arc down the wall. Both HV1197 variants are 120°, a wider even wash. The globe sets it, so it can be changed later.
Only for HV1197MR16T, which is 12 V DC. It needs a 12 V DC LED driver within 25 m, with the supply held to ±5%. The two GU10 versions wire straight to 240 V mains.
No. 3000K, 4000K and 5500K are all in the supplied globe and selected on a switch before it goes in, so one part number covers all three.
