Piaz Stainless Steel TRI Colour Fixed Down

The Piaz is a fixed-down wall and pillar light in 304-grade stainless steel taking a replaceable GU10 globe. It is the straightforward member of the family: no adjustment, no up-light, one job done cleanly — light directed down a wall or pillar face.

Stainless and a standard socket

Two things make it easy to live with. The body is 304 stainless rather than powder-coated aluminium, so there is no paint film to blister or chip in a poolside or weather-exposed position. And the globe is a standard GU10, so a failure means a lamp from any hardware shop rather than a replacement fitting.

Where it works

• Driveway and gate pillars, one either side, washing the pillar face.
• Entry and garage walls where a compact fixed-down fitting is all that is needed.
• Poolside and sheltered walls, where stainless outlasts a painted finish — but read Havit’s salt-water exclusion below before specifying it near the sea.
• Under eaves and covered entries — IP54 covers rain and splashing.

Specifying it

It takes a GU10 globe at 5 W, supplied across the tri-colour range: 270 lm at 3000 K, 285 lm at 4000 K and 300 lm at 5500 K, on a 120° beam. Do not exceed 35 W in the 240 V GU10 socket. It runs on 240 V AC with no driver, IP54, CRI above 80, and is not dimmable with the globe supplied.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. On a pair of pillars, mount both fittings at the same height off the paving rather than the same height off the pillar cap — pillars are rarely identical and the eye reads the light line, not the brickwork.

Coastal siting — Havit’s condition

Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium and 304 stainless steel fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface. Note that 304 stainless steel is named in this restriction — 316 stainless steel is not named in it. Earthing and protection class

This fitting runs on 240 V AC mains and is Protection Class 1 — an earth is required at the fitting. Havit's installation sheet has the installer connect the earth conductor first, then live and neutral.
