A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
Fixed down means exactly that: this Tivah has no tilt and no swivel, and the beam leaves the fitting straight at the ground. It is the version to specify when the aiming is not a decision worth leaving on site — a row of them down a driveway wall lands identical scallops without anyone climbing a ladder to match them, and nothing gets nudged out of alignment later.
The body is solid brass rather than a brass-coloured coating, so there is no film to chip. Havit rates it IK10, which is the top of the impact scale — relevant on a fixed-down fitting because they are usually mounted low, on driveway walls, carport columns and garden steps, where a wheelbarrow or a car door finds them. The lens is clear glass rather than a diffuser, which is what keeps the beam defined instead of scattering it.
On a fixed-down fitting the beam angle does most of the design work. The 60° globe drops a tight bright disc directly below; the 120° globe spreads a soft wash that overlaps between fittings. If you are lighting a path for walking on, the wider one is usually the right answer; if you want defined pools, take the narrower.
The GU10 versions are Class 1 and require an earth. The MR16 version is Class 3 low voltage, needs no earth, and requires an external 12 V DC driver sited within 25 m with the supply held inside 5% of nominal. Globes are replaceable to a ceiling of 35 W on GU10 and 20 W on MR16. Havit quotes CRI above 80, colour consistency inside 6 SDCM and glare below UGR 45, with lamp life over 30,000 hours. IP65 covers full weather exposure. The warranty is 3 years replacement. Order from Lights For You and we will flag if the run you are planning needs a bigger driver than the one you have specified.
No. It is the fixed-down version and points straight down by design. If you need to aim the beam, the single adjustable Tivah is the same fitting with 90° tilt and 270° swivel.
It is the highest impact rating in the scale. On a fitting mounted low on a driveway wall or carport column, that is the difference between a knock and a replacement.
HV1155T, on a Triac dimmer. The fixed 5 W GU10 and MR16 versions are not dimmable with the globes supplied.
No. It is Class 3 low voltage. The two GU10 versions are Class 1 and do require an earth.
Havit quotes lamp expectancy over 30,000 hours. They are replaceable GU10 or MR16 globes, so the fitting outlasts them.
60° for defined pools of light directly below the fitting, 120° for a wash that overlaps between fittings along a wall or path.
No, it is solid brass. There is no coating to chip, and the surface weathers rather than failing.
