The Hull EX is a 240 mm exterior wall light in textured sand, black or corten — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — IP65.

An E27 exterior fitting, which changes what you can do with it

Nearly every exterior light in this range has a sealed integrated LED: fixed colour, fixed output, and when it fails the fitting is finished. The Hull takes a standard E27 globe, which means you choose the light — warm or cool, bright or soft, filament or opal — and you can replace it in ten years. On a fitting that will sit outdoors for a decade, that is a real advantage and nothing on the old page said so.

Choose the globe carefully — it is not supplied. Two things matter. First, use an LED, not a halogen or incandescent: a 25 W filament globe inside a sealed IP65 enclosure runs hot, and heat is what kills sealed fittings. Second, check the globe suits an enclosed fitting — some LED globes are rated for open fittings only, and that is printed on the box. Ask us and we will match one if you would rather not work it out.

IP65 — genuinely exposed-rated

Dust-tight and rated against water jets, so unlike the IP44 and IP54 fittings in this range the Hull goes on an unsheltered wall taking driven rain and can be hosed down.

Compact, textured, and light

240 mm high by 97 mm wide, projecting 90 mm, at only 0.46 kg. A textured sand coat rather than a gloss — which outdoors matters, because gloss shows salt, dust and water marks and a textured finish does not.

Corten is the finish worth considering

Black is the default and disappears at night. Corten is weathering steel colour — a warm orange-brown that belongs with timber, rammed earth, dark render and planting. It is uncommon on a compact wall light, and it is the reason to choose the Hull over a plain black bulkhead.

It is Class I — earth required and hard-wired. A licensed electrician installs it, and on this page that requirement is genuine. Dimming is globe dependent: a dimmable LED globe with a suitable wall dimmer will dim; a plain globe will not. Our record says “No”, which is misleading.

Questions
Is a globe included?

No — one E27 to 25 W, your choice. That is unusual for an exterior fitting here and it is an advantage: you choose the colour and output, and you can replace it in ten years rather than replacing the whole fitting.

What globe should I fit?

An LED, and one rated for enclosed fittings. A 25 W filament globe inside a sealed IP65 enclosure runs hot, and heat is what kills sealed fittings — and some LED globes are rated for open fittings only, which is printed on the box. Ask us and we will match one.

Can it go on an exposed wall?

How bright is it?

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
