The Halifax PE50 is a 500 mm pendant in bronze with amber glass — 28 W giving 810 lm, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K and TRIAC dimming, on a 2,000 mm suspension.
⚠ It gives less light than its wattage suggests. 810 lm from 28 W is about a third of what an LED normally delivers — the amber glass absorbs the rest. It is not a fault: the 350 mm Halifax runs at the same efficiency, which confirms the cause. Buy it for the amber glow, and plan other light in the room.
500 mm wide by 160 mm high on a 180 mm canopy. That is the size at which one pendant holds a dining table on its own visually — the 350 mm version is made to hang in a run of two or three. At 810 lm it is more than twice the small one’s output, which makes it usable over a table where the small one is not.
Tinted amber warms everything that passes through it and absorbs a large share of the output — the same fact seen twice. What you get is a deep golden light and a fitting you can look directly at without glare. Over a dining table at night that is exactly the effect people buy pendants for; over a kitchen bench in the morning it is not.
It dims from an ordinary leading-edge wall dimmer — no remote, no app. Combined with amber glass, a dimmed Halifax is candle-warm without being dark, which is where this fitting is at its best.
3000 K, 4000 K, 5000 K, switchable, though the amber compresses the range: 3000 K goes deep gold, 5000 K reaches honey rather than white. There is no cool setting on this fitting in practice.
It is Class I — earth required. Hard-wired to a 180 mm canopy on a 2,000 mm adjustable suspension. A licensed electrician installs it.
500 mm wide by 160 mm high, canopy 180 mm by 40 mm, suspension 2,000 mm and adjustable, black cable, in iron and amber glass, bronze. Integrated 28 W LED giving 810 lm, included, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, CRI >80, TRIAC dimmable. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Yes. That is about a third of what an LED normally gives per watt, because the amber glass absorbs the rest. The 350 mm Halifax runs at the same efficiency, which confirms the cause is the glass and not a fault.
As the evening light over a table, yes — and it is more than twice the small Halifax’s output. As a kitchen task light, no. Plan other light in the room.
Yes — TRIAC, from an ordinary leading-edge wall dimmer. Combined with amber glass, a dimmed Halifax is candle-warm without being dark, which is where this fitting is at its best.
Not in practice. The switch offers 3000 K, 4000 K and 5000 K, but the amber compresses the range — 3000 K goes deep gold and 5000 K reaches honey rather than white.
The 500 is the single-pendant size — one of these holds a dining table on its own. The 350 is made to hang in a run of two or three over a bench or a bar.
Yes. It is Class I, earth required, hard-wired to a 180 mm ceiling canopy.
No — amber glass is exactly the kind of shade you can look directly at. That is a large part of what you are paying for.
