The Domus GT-554 Siena is a 300 mm sphere on a short post — 950 mm recorded height, IP43, taking one E27 lamp, in aluminium. Five powder-coated colours.

⭐ A 300 mm sphere on a 950 mm post is a deliberate proportion

• The sphere is almost a third of the post height — the most top-heavy proportion in the single-head Siena range.
• ⭐ Which is the point of it. At waist height a large sphere reads as a sculptural object in the planting rather than as a light on a stick. On a formal bed or either side of a step it looks deliberate.
• ⚠ The same sphere at 1,570 mm reads completely differently — there it is a lamp on a post; here it is a feature at ground level.
• ⚠ It needs room. A 300 mm sphere low down is a visible object by day as well as by night, so it wants a bed that can carry it rather than a narrow border.
• ⭐ The 250 mm GT-553 on the same 950 mm post is the more restrained alternative.

✅ "Short" is reliable here, and the other Siena size words are not

• Short records 950 mm and nothing else in the range does.
• ⛔ Single-head medium and tall both record 1,570 mm; twin-head short and medium both record 1,330 mm — ⚠ each pair within a single head count.
• ✅ So you can order this one by name — ⚠ but order anything else in the Siena range by the recorded height.

⛔ It records no depth, where the medium posts do

The GT-555 and GT-556 medium posts both record a 380 mm depth. ⛔ Neither short post records one. ⚠ On a bed edge or beside a path the projection matters — ⭐ ask us and we will measure one before you set out spacings.

⛔ An E27 holder with no maximum wattage

• One E27 lamp, not included, no maximum recorded in any source.
• ✅ 8–10 W E27 LED, warm at 2700–3000 K, enclosed and damp rated.
• ⭐ The 300 mm sphere is the most forgiving in the range for glare — a larger diffusing surface spreads the same output more thinly, so the sphere glows rather than glares. ⚠ It also means it looks dimmer than the 250 mm with the same lamp.
• ⚠ Check the lamp fits the opening — a compact globe rather than a long candle.

⛔ And no footing specification

⛔ No footing depth, base plate size, fixing pattern or wind rating on any Siena post. ⚠ A 300 mm sphere is the largest sail area in the range, and on a short post the leverage is low but the mass is not. ⭐ Ask us for the detail before the concreter is on site.

• Formal beds and generous borders, where a large low sphere reads as sculpture.
• Either side of a step or an entrance path, as a matched pair.
• Courtyards and terraces, where the object matters as much as the light.
• ⚠ Not on a narrow border — the 250 mm GT-553 is the restrained option.
• ⚠ IP43, so not a wash-down or coastal front-line position.
