The Domus GT-554 Siena is a 300 mm sphere on a short post — 950 mm recorded height, IP43, taking one E27 lamp, in aluminium. Five powder-coated colours.
Up to 10 business days for production before it ships — the body is powder-coated in your colour after ordering. ⚠ Order a run together; a later batch is not guaranteed to match.
The GT-555 and GT-556 medium posts both record a 380 mm depth. ⛔ Neither short post records one. ⚠ On a bed edge or beside a path the projection matters — ⭐ ask us and we will measure one before you set out spacings.
⛔ No footing depth, base plate size, fixing pattern or wind rating on any Siena post. ⚠ A 300 mm sphere is the largest sail area in the range, and on a short post the leverage is low but the mass is not. ⭐ Ask us for the detail before the concreter is on site.
300 mm sphere short post light. 950 mm recorded height. IP43. 220–240 V AC. One E27 lamp — not included. Aluminium. Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green or White. ⚠ Warranty 1 year. ⛔ Made to order — allow up to 10 business days. ⛔ No depth recorded, where the medium posts record 380 mm — ask us before setting out spacings. ⛔ No maximum lamp wattage, footing specification or wind rating.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
It is the most top-heavy proportion in the single-head Siena range — the sphere is almost a third of the post height — and that is deliberate. At waist height a large sphere reads as a sculptural object in the planting rather than as a light on a stick, which on a formal bed or either side of a step looks considered. The same sphere at 1,570mm reads completely differently: there it is a lamp on a post. What it needs is room; on a narrow border the 250mm GT-553 on the same post is the restrained choice.
Yes, on the single-head posts — and it is the one Siena size word you can. Short records 950mm and nothing else in the range does. The others collide: single-head medium and tall both record 1,570mm, and twin-head short and medium both record 1,330mm. Order this one by name; order anything else in the Siena range by the recorded height.
Not recorded — neither short post records a depth, where the GT-555 and GT-556 medium posts both record 380mm. On a bed edge or beside a path the projection matters for setting out spacings, so ask us and we will measure one. It is worth doing before a made-to-order lead time starts rather than after.
It will look softer rather than dimmer. Both take one E27 lamp, so the output is the same — the larger sphere spreads it over a bigger diffusing surface, which means it glows more evenly and glares less, but reads as less bright. If you want more apparent brightness at this size, that is a lamp choice rather than a fitting one; tell us and we will suggest one.
An E27 LED at 8–10W, warm at 2700–3000K, rated for enclosed and damp use. No maximum wattage is recorded in any source, so ask us before going above about 15W. Check the lamp fits the opening too — E27 LEDs vary a lot in length and girth, and a compact globe is safer than a long candle or a large decorative shape.
Up to 10 business days for production. Domus builds it to order because the body is powder-coated in your chosen colour after ordering. If you are installing a matched pair either side of a step, order them together — a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match, and on a symmetrical pair that would be the first thing anyone noticed.
Not recorded on any Siena post — no depth, base plate size, fixing pattern or wind rating. A 300mm sphere is the largest sail area in the range, and although a short post gives low leverage the mass is still there. Tell us the site and the soil and we will get the detail from Domus before your concreter is there.
