DOMUS GT-545 Siena Sphere Wall Light

The Domus GT-545 Siena is a sphere wall light in aluminium — 280 mm across, 220 mm high, IP43, taking one E27 globe, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⚠ IP43 — where it can and cannot go

Spraying water down to 60° from vertical — lower than the IP44 or IP65 most exterior wall lights carry.

• ✅ Suitable under an eave, in a porch, on a covered verandah, or on a wall sheltered from prevailing weather.
• ⚠ Not suitable on an exposed wall in driving rain, where water arrives closer to horizontal.
• ⛔ Not for hosing, coastal spray or pooling water.

If the position is exposed, ask us for an IP44 or IP65 alternative — the CLARO at IP65 is one.

⚠ The warranty on this product and its sibling disagree

The GT-545 records a two-year warranty. Its near-identical sibling the GT-544 records one year — on a product that shares the same datasheet, the same aluminium construction, the same IP43 rating and the same five finishes.

One of the two is wrong and nothing in our data says which. We have published what is recorded here and flagged it. Ask us to confirm with Domus before you quote a project, and we will honour whichever term is correct.

What a sphere does on a wall

• The whole surface glows, so it lights outward in every direction and reads as an object rather than a source. It is decorative first.
• It softly lifts the wall around it rather than throwing a defined beam — good for presence and a welcoming look, poor for lighting a step or a lock.
• ⚠ It spills upward. If neighbours are close or you care about a dark sky, a shielded fitting is the better neighbour.

✅ Use them in pairs, either side of a door or a gate. Symmetry is what makes a sphere read as deliberate.

Choosing the globe — not supplied

• Warm 2700–3000 K. Cool white on a house entry reads institutional.
• Opal or frosted, never a clear filament — a clear globe shows as a hot spot through the diffuser and undoes the even glow that is the point of a sphere.
• Around 600–800 lm. A sphere has nothing shielding it, so a very bright globe becomes something you squint at.
• ⚠ Rated for enclosed fixtures.

✅ Burgundy, and the rest of the palette

• Black — the safe modern choice; a dark object by day.
• White and beige — traditional, visible by day, suited to a formal entry.
• Green — recedes into planting.
• ✅ Burgundy — nothing else in this catalogue offers it, and against red brick or a heritage palette it is a considered choice.

• Porches, eaves, covered verandahs and sheltered walls.
• Either side of a door or gate, as a pair.
• Pillar and pier tops, with the GT-503/504 mount.
• ⛔ IP43 — not for exposed walls in driving rain or hosing.
