The HV5529T is the Gleam deep recessed downlight built for a Ø76 mm cut-out. That single number is the whole reason it exists alongside the Ø90 mm HV5528T: the light engine, the 9 W rating, the output, the beam and the ratings are identical, and only the hole in the ceiling is smaller. This listing carries seven insert combinations — HV5529T-BB, -BC, -BG, -WB, -WC, -WG and -WW — each a complete luminaire with its own driver, flex and plug.

Ø76 mm, and why it is the deciding spec

A downlight is chosen twice: once for how it looks and once for whether it fits the hole. If you are replacing older fittings, matching the existing cut-out saves patching every ceiling in the room, and 76 mm is the size that the larger Gleam cannot cover. The body measures Ø82 mm across the face and 66 mm deep, rising to about 76 mm deep with the HV5528-IC4CAP fitted. One of Havit's own documents contradicts itself here: the installation sheet's specification table prints a 90 mm cut-out while its own dimension drawings on the same page print Ø76 twice. The dated model data sheet, the drawings and Havit's own product pages all say Ø76 mm, and that is the figure to cut to.

Insert colour, and what it does not change

The insert is the visible bezel — black, chrome, gold or white, over a black or white face. It is a finish decision, not an optical one. All seven part numbers give 680 lm at 3000K, 795 lm at 4000K and 745 lm at 5500K from the same built-in 9 W LED, with a 90° beam and CRI >80. The colour temperature is set by a switch on the back before the fitting goes in, and the middle setting is the brightest — 5500K gives about 6% less than 4000K.

Insulation and the IC-4 qualification

The fitting is IC-4 only when the HV5528-IC4CAP is used, that rating applies to the fitting only and the driver may not be installed under insulation, and the fixture must not be used with loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool. The driver must sit above any insulation covering the fitting so it can ventilate.

Wiring, rating and warranty

It runs on 240 V AC from a separate driver, is Protection Class 2 so needs no earth at the fitting, is IK08, rated >30,000 hrs and Triac dimmable. IP54 covers the front of the fitting only. Havit's warranty line for these part numbers reads "3 Years replacement warranty (items ordered after 01/01/22)". Lights For You lists the Ø90 mm version of the same engine as HV5528T, and a dim-to-warm model on this identical Ø76 mm cut-out as HV5529D2W.

Questions
What cut-out does the HV5529T need?

Ø76 mm. Its own dated data sheet states it twice, its dimension drawings state it twice more, and Havit’s page for each of these part numbers states it. Note that the installation sheet’s specification table prints 90 mm — that cell contradicts the drawings on the same document and is wrong for this model.

How is it different from the HV5528T?

Only the hole. Same 9 W engine, same 680/795/745 lm, same 90° beam, same ratings — the HV5528T needs a Ø90 mm cut-out and the HV5529T needs Ø76 mm.

Are these complete lights?

Yes. Each part number is a whole downlight with driver, flex and plug. Havit lists all nine HV5529T insert combinations in one Model No. row on the installation sheet, so the insert is a model variant rather than a separate accessory.

Which colour temperature is brightest?

4000K, at 795 lm. 3000K gives 680 lm and 5500K gives 745 lm, so cooler is not brighter on this fitting.

How much depth does it need above the ceiling?

The body is 66 mm deep and about 76 mm with the HV5528-IC4CAP fitted, plus room for the driver, which must sit above any insulation rather than under it.

Can it be covered by insulation?

Only with the HV5528-IC4CAP fitted, and only the fitting itself. Havit states the driver may not be installed under insulation, and that loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool must not be used with this fixture at all.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes — Triac dimmable, with the HV9625 Triac dimmer offered to suit Havit’s Triac dimmable drivers. If you want the light to warm as it dims, that is the separate HV5529D2W model on the same cut-out.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
