The Gilson 80 is an 815 mm LED vanity light drawing 20 W for 2,137 lm, with three switchable colour temperatures and an IP44 rating, in antique gold, black or chrome.

2,137 lm is a lot of light over a basin

Vanity lights are often underpowered — a dim strip that leaves you shaving in shadow. At over 2,100 lm across 815 mm, the Gilson lights a whole mirror evenly rather than just the middle of it. That is the practical case for it.

Three colour temperatures, chosen after you see it

3000 K, 4000 K or 5000 K, set on the fitting at installation. In a bathroom this matters more than anywhere else: 3000 K is flattering and relaxed, 4000 K is the honest one for makeup and shaving, 5000 K is clinical. Being able to change your mind after seeing it lit is worth more than choosing from a catalogue.

CRI above 83, for a mirror

Colour accuracy is the entire job here. >83 means skin reads truthfully rather than sallow — the difference between makeup that looks right in the bathroom and makeup that looks wrong in daylight.

IP44, which is what lets it be there

Rated against splashing from any direction. Your electrician will confirm the zone above the basin, but the rating is why this fitting can go where an IP20 wall light cannot.

Three sizes and three finishes

This is the 80. Gilson is made in three lengths, so it can be matched to the mirror rather than the other way round — ask us for the others. Antique gold is the unusual finish; black and chrome are the safe ones.

Specifying it

815 mm long, 80 mm wide, 60 mm high, in aluminium and polycarbonate. Integrated 20 W LED giving 2,137 lm, CRI >83, switchable 3000/4000/5000 K. Not dimmable. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP44 — splash rated. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. The LED is integrated — nothing to buy, nothing to replace.

Questions
How long is it?

815 mm long by 80 mm wide. Our record and the old copy had those two figures transposed, which we have corrected.

Can it go above a basin?

Yes — that is what it is for. IP44 is rated against splashing from any direction; your electrician will confirm the correct zone.

How do I set the colour temperature?

On the fitting at installation. 3000 K is relaxed, 4000 K honest for makeup and shaving, 5000 K clinical.

Is it bright enough?

2,137 lm across 815 mm — enough to light a whole mirror evenly, rather than just the middle of it.

Is it dimmable?

No.

Are other sizes available?

Yes — Gilson is made in three lengths, so it can be matched to the mirror. Ask us for the others.

What is the warranty?

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

Your Options

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
  • Credit: will be issued in the form of store credit and will be equal to the price paid.
