Foley 80 LED Vanity Light

The Foley 80 is an 800 mm LED vanity light with the LED built in — a slim bar for above a bathroom mirror. Two things decide whether it suits your bathroom: its length, and its IP rating.

IP44 is what makes it a bathroom fitting

Rated IP44, it is protected against splashing from any direction, which is what a fitting above a basin needs. Australian wiring rules set zones around a bath and shower, and your electrician will confirm the fitting suits the zone you are mounting it in — over a vanity basin is the normal position for this one, not inside a shower enclosure.

Colour temperature is chosen at installation

It is 3 CCT: a switch selects 3000 K, 4000 K or 5000 K before it goes on the wall. In a bathroom this matters more than elsewhere. 3000 K is flattering and warm; 4000 K is usually the right answer over a mirror, because it renders skin honestly for shaving and make-up without being clinical. Set it before mounting — the switch is not reachable afterwards.

Measure the mirror first

At 800 mm this suits a mirror of roughly 900 mm or wider, centred above it. The Foley comes in other lengths as separate products, so if your mirror is narrower or wider, check the family rather than forcing this one.

Where it works

• Above a vanity mirror in a bathroom or powder room, centred.
• Ensuites, where 4000 K gives honest light for shaving and make-up.
• Laundries and utility rooms needing a splash-rated linear fitting.
• Mirrored dressing areas, mounted above rather than beside the glass.

Specifying it

It is 800 mm long, 55 mm high, projecting 100 mm, in aluminium and polycarbonate. The LED is built in and supplied — 20 W giving 1,155 lm, with no globe to buy or replace. It is not dimmable, runs on 240 V, and is Class I — an earth is required. Warranty is three years.
