A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Eslen PT3 is a 24 V exterior LED post and spike light in solid brass or 316 stainless steel with glass — 3 W giving 140 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 90, 38° beam, IP65 — with an adjustable head, in antique brass, natural brass or stainless steel.
⚠ It runs on 24 volts, so it needs a transformer. This is not a fitting you connect to a 240 V circuit. A 240 V-to-24 V low-voltage supply is required, and no Telbix fitting in this range records one as supplied. That changes the job and the quote. Ask us before you order, and tell your electrician it is a low-voltage garden system. We stock them: an outdoor 24 V transformer in 60 W and 200 W, both IP68, 240 V mains in and 24 V DC out. One transformer runs several fittings, so tell us how many you are installing and we will size it.
⚠ Our sources disagree on the height by 400 mm. The datasheet says 600 mm; our record and the old page say 1,000 mm. On a garden post light the height is the whole specification — it decides whether light clears your planting — and a forty per cent discrepancy is not something we will guess at. Ask us and we will confirm the measured height with Telbix before you order a run.
Our record listed “Glass” alone. The body is solid brass or 316 stainless steel — and in a garden that matters more than on a wall, because a spike light sits in wet soil, in fertiliser and in sprinkler spray. 316 is the marine grade, with added molybdenum to resist salt; solid brass weathers rather than corrodes. A painted aluminium garden light in the same position fails in a couple of seasons.
The old specification table said “Solid Brass” on every variant — including the stainless one. Corrected: the two brass finishes are solid brass, the third is 316 stainless steel.
The Eslen comes as either a post or a spike, so it can be driven into a garden bed or fixed to a surface. The head adjusts, which with a 38° beam is the useful combination: a tight beam you can aim puts light on a specific plant, tree trunk or wall panel rather than washing everything. That is what separates a landscape light from a path marker.
3 W giving 140 lm is a modest, deliberate output for accenting rather than lighting. The CRI above 90 is what makes it worth doing — foliage reads green rather than grey, and bark and stone hold their colour. On a garden light that is the specification that shows.
Worth saying as a positive: a 24 V system in wet ground is inherently safer than a 240 V one, and it lets several fittings run from one supply on light cable. The 1,000 mm tail is sized for that. It is the reason landscape lighting is usually low voltage.
Height recorded as 600 mm or 1,000 mm — sources disagree; ask us. 235 mm across, 1.15 kg, tail 1,000 mm, in solid brass or 316 stainless steel with glass. Integrated 3 W COB LED giving 140 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >90, 38° beam, adjustable head, not dimmable. 24 V — a low-voltage transformer is required and is not confirmed as supplied. Class III — low voltage, IP65 — dust-tight, rated against water jets. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No — it runs on 24 volts, so a 240 V-to-24 V transformer is required, and no Telbix fitting in this range records one as supplied. That changes the job and the quote. Ask us before ordering, and tell your electrician it is a low-voltage garden system.
Our sources disagree by 400 mm — the datasheet says 600 mm, our record and the old page say 1,000 mm. On a garden post light the height decides whether the beam clears your planting, so we will not guess. Ask us and we will confirm with Telbix.
Solid brass on the two brass finishes and 316 stainless steel on the third, with glass. Our record listed “Glass” alone, and the old table said “Solid Brass” for every variant including the stainless.
That is what the materials are for. A spike light sits in wet soil, fertiliser and sprinkler spray — 316 is the marine grade of stainless and solid brass weathers rather than corrodes. A painted aluminium garden light in the same position fails in a couple of seasons.
Yes — the head adjusts, and with a 38-degree beam that is the useful combination: a tight beam you can aim puts light on a specific plant, trunk or wall panel rather than washing everything.
For accenting, yes — that is what it is for. And the CRI above 90 is what makes it worth doing: foliage reads green rather than grey, and bark and stone hold their colour.
Because 24 V in wet ground is inherently safer than 240 V, and it lets several fittings run from one supply on light cable. It is why landscape lighting is usually low voltage.
