Emporia Floor Lamp 5Lt

The Emporia is a 1,520 mm five-light candelabra floor lamp in iron, black or white, 560 mm wide.

A candelabra on the floor

Five candle arms on a floor stand is an unusual thing — the form belongs on a table or a ceiling. Standing at 1.5 m it puts the arms at head height, so you see the candle shapes directly rather than looking up at them. That is what gives it its vintage character.

560 mm wide, and that matters

This is a broad lamp. The arms spread more than half a metre, so it needs a clear corner or a wall it can sit against — not a gap between a sofa and a side table. Measure the width, not just the footprint.

Five E14 globes, and they will be seen

Note the base: E14 small Edison screw, not the more common E27, at 25 W each — 125 W total, not supplied. On an exposed candelabra the globes are the fitting: candle-shaped filament globes complete it, and plain pear-shaped ones will look wrong. Buy all five together and a spare.

A foot switch on 2 m of cable

Switching five globes from the floor rather than reaching into the arms is the sensible arrangement, and 2 m gives real freedom in placement.

5.4 kg on a 255 × 150 mm base

Heavy enough to be stable under a wide arm spread. Not a lamp to move casually.
