Emerson 35Cm Pendant Light

The Emerson PE35 is a 350 mm industrial-style iron pendant — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — in antique gold, black, chrome or nickel, on a 1,200 mm suspension.

The middle size, and the most flexible

350 mm wide by 260 mm high, at 1.5 kg. This is the size that works alone as well as in a pair — big enough to hold a small dining table or a breakfast bar on its own, and not so large that two over an island crowd each other. The 250 mm wants company; the 450 mm is a statement.

Four finishes, and they behave very differently

• Chrome — polished and reflective; mirrors the room and shines under other lights.
• Nickel — the softer metal, cooler than gold and quieter than chrome.
• Black — a solid silhouette against a pale ceiling.
• Antique gold — warm and aged rather than bright.

At 350 mm the finish matters more than at 250: there is half again as much surface catching light.

An open shade, so the globe is part of the design

One E27 to 25 W, not supplied, and visible. A decorative filament globe suits the Emerson far better than a plain frosted one, and at this size the globe is a larger part of what you see. Dimming is globe dependent — a dimmable globe with a wall dimmer will dim it; a plain one will not. Our record says “No”, which is misleading.

Where it works

• Over a small dining table or a breakfast bar, alone.
• Kitchen islands, in pairs.
• ⚠ Not for a stairwell — the drop is only 1,200 mm.
• ⚠ Buy a decorative globe — the shade shows it.
• ⚠ Indoor and dry locations only — IP20.

350 mm wide by 260 mm high, canopy 120 mm with a 25 mm projection, suspension 1,200 mm, 1.5 kg, in iron. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
