The Eltz OY40 is a 400 mm LED oyster in a clear textured finish — 32 W giving 3,230 lm, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, TRIAC dimmable.
Two corrections to what this page used to say.
That efficacy is the story here, and nothing said it. Compare it to the Orlin wood-rimmed oyster in this catalogue: 24 W for 1,270 lm — 53 lm/W. The Eltz is nearly twice as efficient, because it has no decorative rim absorbing the output.
Practically: 3,230 lm will light a large bedroom, a living room or a kitchen on its own. That is a genuine main light, not a hallway fitting, and it puts the Eltz in a different class from most oysters in this range.
3000 K, 4000 K, 5000 K, selected at installation. Our record lists only 3000 and 4000; the 5000 K setting is absent, which is the one that matters in a laundry, kitchen or home office where you need to judge colour properly.
Note there is no 2700 K: the Eltz starts at 3000 K, so it never goes as warm as a decorative fitting. That is correct for what it is.
Dimmable AND colour-switchable is a rare combination here. Most switchable oysters in this catalogue are on or off. This one gives you colour at install and level on the wall — a bright 5000 K working setting and a dimmed 3000 K evening one from the same fitting. TRIAC, so an ordinary wall dimmer.
400 mm wide and only 80 mm off the ceiling, at 1.8 kg, on a 350 mm canopy. That canopy is nearly as wide as the fitting, which is worth knowing on a retrofit: it will cover the mark left by whatever came down, and it needs 350 mm of flat ceiling. At 1.8 kg it goes onto a standard fixing.
Eltz comes in three sizes. The 280 mm gives 2,130 lm from 18 W and is not dimmable; this 400 mm gives 3,230 lm from 32 W and is. So the step up buys you 52% more light and the dimming — which, in a room you sit in rather than pass through, is the whole argument.
It is Class I — earth required and IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, so not in a bathroom. A licensed electrician installs it. CRI above 80.
400 mm across by 80 mm deep, canopy 350 mm, 1.8 kg, in iron and polycarbonate, clear textured. Integrated 32 W LED giving 3,230 lm, included, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, CRI >80, TRIAC dimmable. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

It is. The product title says Dimmable and the specification table below it said “Dimmable: No” — a direct contradiction on the same page. The datasheet records TRIAC dimming, which agrees with the title.
32. The title says 30 W; the datasheet, the record and the specification table all say 32.
Yes — 3,230 lm will light a large bedroom, living room or kitchen on its own. That is a genuine main light, not a hallway fitting.
Unusually so — 101 lm/W, where the Orlin wood-rimmed oyster in this catalogue gives 53. The Eltz has no decorative rim absorbing the output, and nothing on our page said so.

Probably — the canopy is 350 mm, nearly as wide as the 400 mm fitting, so it covers the mark left by whatever came down. It needs 350 mm of flat ceiling, and at 1.8 kg goes onto a standard fixing.
