Elite LED Deck or Inground Light CCT in Black or Silver Havit Lighting - HV2882T

This is the larger of the two tri-colour Elites, and the difference is not only brightness — it is the hole. The 5 W needs a 51 mm cutout against the 3 W's 38 mm, and that is the decision you cannot revisit once decking or paving is down. It is sold as HV2882T-BLK-12V in poly powder coated black and HV2882T-SLV-12V in natural silver aluminium.

Output, and which way it runs

The light source is a built-in LED — no globe, no socket, nothing to replace. Havit publishes 400 lm at 3000K, 420 lm at 4000K and 450 lm at 5500K, so output climbs with colour temperature and the coolest setting is the brightest. That is worth knowing before you commit, because the setting is made in the wiring rather than on a switch: the neutral cables are marked 3000k and 5500k, and joining both to the driver's neutral gives 4000K. The cable you do not use must be terminated and sealed. The beam is 36°, the lens is traffic resistant and the impact rating is IK08.

IP65, and what that asks of the hole

Like the 3 W, this fitting is IP65 — protection against water jets, not against immersion. Havit gives the installation type as Ground or Wall – Recessed and makes drainage a warranty condition: a 100 mm space beneath the canister, 100 mm to 150 mm of crushed rock below that, and a slight fall on the finished ground so water runs away. The canister finishes level with the ground. In a spot that will pond after rain, this is the wrong IP rating and no amount of silicone changes that.

Supply and the two limits that void the warranty

It runs on 12 V DC from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V. Havit requires the voltage arriving at the fitting to be within ±5% of the rated figure and the fitting to sit no more than 25 m from its driver; breach either and the warranty is void. Multiple fittings are wired in parallel. Each carries a 300 mm tail, and every joint must be soldered and sealed with adhesive lined heat shrink or a gel cap; HV9911, HV9912 and HV9913 weatherproof connectors are Havit's listed alternative.

Aluminium, and where it may not be installed

Face and body are aluminium in both finishes, and Havit's installation sheet states that aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments.
