E27 St64 2W LED Pilot Filament Globe Non-Dimmable

An E27 ST64 pilot filament globe — 2 W for 240 lm at 2400 K, clear glass, 140 mm tall.

“Pilot” means it is deliberately dim

This is the thing to understand before buying. 2 W and 240 lm is a tenth of a normal globe. The Frya is not meant to light a room — it is meant to be looked at. The filament itself is the object; the light it gives is a by-product.

2400 K — genuinely amber

Most “warm white” globes are 2700–3000 K. At 2400 K this one is noticeably amber, the colour of a carbon-filament bulb or a candle. Combined with the very low output, that produces the speakeasy effect people are actually after when they buy filament globes — and which a bright 3000 K filament never quite delivers.

ST64 — the classic teardrop

64 mm across and 140 mm tall, in the elongated teardrop shape that reads as “Edison bulb” more than any other. In an open cage pendant, an exposed cluster or a bare-globe fitting, it is the whole decoration.

Use them in numbers

Because each gives so little light, a cluster is the way to use these — six or eight across a stairwell or above a bar, where the effect comes from the constellation rather than any one globe. Even eight of them draw 16 W in total.

Plan other light in the room

Said plainly: a room lit only by pilot globes will be too dark to function in. They are an atmosphere layer over proper lighting, not a substitute for it.

Non-dimmable

It will not dim, and at 240 lm it hardly needs to. On a dimmer circuit it will flicker or fail early — tell us if your fitting is dimmed.
