Product Description
xThe Downey is a floor lamp with a tapered fabric shade — ø500 mm at the top narrowing to ø220 mm — on a 400 mm base, in black or white.
We are not publishing an overall height. Our sources give 1,210 mm and 1,800 mm — a 60 cm difference, which is the gap between a low reading lamp and a tall corner lamp. Ask us before ordering and we will confirm.
An inverted taper, which is unusual
Most tapered shades narrow toward the top. The Downey does the opposite — wide at the top, narrow at the bottom. That throws more light upward and outward and concentrates a tighter pool below, so the lamp lifts the whole room rather than only lighting the chair beside it.
Fabric, so it glows as well as directs
The shade transmits light through its sides as well as its openings. Combined with the inverted taper, that makes the Downey an ambient lamp first and a task lamp second.
Two finishes, two effects
White passes the most light and glows warmly. Black contains it, so the light exits mainly top and bottom and the shade reads as a dark silhouette. The same lamp does two quite different jobs.
E27 to 25 W, not supplied
An ordinary replaceable globe — not a fixed LED, whatever the old page implied. Colour temperature is your choice.

How tall is it?
We are not publishing a height — our sources give 1,210 mm and 1,800 mm. That is the difference between a low reading lamp and a tall corner lamp, so ask us and we will confirm.
Is the height adjustable?
Our sources do not say so. An earlier version of this page listed "Height: Adjustable" as part of unfilled template text, along with several other placeholders.
Which finish should I choose?

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
