Domus TROPIX II 4-in-1 Slimline Bathroom Heater

• ⭐ The record publishes power_watt = 25 W, which is the LED light's wattage. ⭐ The appliance draws 2,250 W. ⭐ An understatement of ninety times.
• ⭐⭐ AND IT IS THE RULE RATHER THAN THE EXCEPTION: eight of the nine bathroom heaters in this catalogue publish their lamp's wattage in place of the heater's. ⭐ Only one publishes the correct figure.
• ⭐ WHY IT MATTERS: 2,250 W at 240 V is 9.4 amps, and a standard 10 A lighting circuit carries 2,400 W. ⭐⭐ THIS APPLIANCE IS 94% OF THAT CIRCUIT ON ITS OWN.
• ⛔ IT NEEDS A DEDICATED CIRCUIT AND NOTHING ON THE LISTING SAYS SO. ⭐ A buyer or estimator reading “25 W” would take it for a light fitting. ⭐ Tell your electrician the real figure before the walls close — adding a circuit at rough-in is routine, adding one afterwards means chasing walls.

⚠ And its own datasheet disagrees with itself

• ⭐ The spec table says 2,250 W. The prose on the same sheet says “producing a 2150W output”.
• ⭐ WE CHECKED THE OTHER HEATERS: seven state both figures, and six show exactly this pattern — 2,250 in the table, 2,150 in the prose. ⭐ Only the THERMAFLOW agrees with itself, and its spec is 2,150.
• ⭐⭐ SO THE PROSE READS AS BOILERPLATE CARRIED FROM THE 2,150 W MODEL, rather than the spec being wrong. ⭐ That is the more parsimonious explanation: one paragraph copied across a range, not six spec tables independently mistaken.
• ⭐ PRACTICALLY IT IS IMMATERIAL — 2,150 and 2,250 W are both about 9 amps and both need their own circuit. ⭐ We have published 2,250 as the spec figure and noted the discrepancy.

⭐ Twin motors and 500 m³/h — the difference from the round model

• ⭐ This is the twin AC motor version at 500 m³/h; the round THERMAFLOW has a single motor at 300.
• ⭐⭐ 500 m³/h IN A 10 m³ BATHROOM IS A COMPLETE AIR CHANGE ROUGHLY EVERY 70 SECONDS. ⭐ That clears steam fast enough to stop it reaching the ceiling and the mirror, which is what actually prevents mould.
• ⭐ THE HIGHER RATE EARNS ITS PLACE where the bathroom is large, has a spa, or the shower is used back to back by a household — ⭐ the cases where a 300 m³/h unit is working at its limit.
• ⭐ AND IT USES 150 mm DUCTING where the round model uses 100 — ⭐ a wider duct is far less sensitive to bends and sags. ⚠ Every elbow costs airflow and adds noise, and a long flexible run with dips in it can halve the effective extraction. ⭐ Keep it short, straight and rising slightly to the outlet.

⭐ The "Heat Breeze" combination, and the PTC element

⭐ The four functions are heater, exhaust fan, circulating fan and light. ⭐⭐ THE CIRCULATING FAN IS THE ONE WORTH UNDERSTANDING: a conventional bathroom heater blasts heat downward and the warm air rises straight back to the ceiling, so the room feels hot under the unit and cold everywhere else. ⭐ A circulating fan moves that air around instead of letting it stratify, and Domus pairs it with low-level extraction running at the same time. ⭐ The element is PTC — self-limiting, because its resistance rises as it heats, so it cannot run away thermally the way a bare wire element can. ⭐ In a ceiling cavity full of insulation that is a meaningful safety property.

⚠ 7.6 kg and a 595 × 280 mm cutout — a framing job

⭐ The cutout is 595 × 280 mm in a 615 × 315 mm fascia — only about 20 mm of cover each way. ⭐⭐ A 595 mm CUTOUT IS LONGER THAN THE CLEAR GAP BETWEEN JOISTS AT 450 mm CENTRES, ⭐ so it will almost certainly need a joist trimmed and noggins added — carpentry before electrical. ⚠ And at 7.6 kg it is twice the weight of the round model, so it must be fixed to framing rather than plasterboard. ⭐ Check the joist direction and spacing before ordering; the cutout is the one dimension that cannot be corrected once cut.

⭐ The light: 1,800–2,100 lumens

⭐ 25 W giving 1,800 lm at 3000 K, 2,100 at 4000 and 1,900 at 5000, CRI ≥80. ⭐ THAT IS ENOUGH TO BE A BATHROOM'S MAIN LIGHT in most rooms — ⭐ unlike the round model's 950 lm. ⭐ If this unit lights the room, the ceiling needs nothing else except perhaps a vanity light. ⚠ CRI ≥80 is adequate for a bathroom and not for close colour work, so a higher-CRI vanity light is worth having if anyone does makeup in the room.
