DOMUS TRIM-306 63X33 RECESSED TRIM

The Domus TRIM-306 is a recessed plaster trim for 595 × 295 mm LED panels — 630 × 330 mm outside, 41 mm deep, in white.

⭐ Its lumen table is what proved its sibling's wrong

• ⭐ This sheet publishes 3000 K 2,200 lm · 4000 K 2,300 lm · 6000 K 2,350 lm — ⭐ ascending, as it should be. ⭐ Cooler light is brighter for the same wattage because warmer light needs heavier phosphor conversion.
• ⭐⭐ THE TRIM-312 PUBLISHES 3,400 → 3,000 → 3,550, WHICH RUNS BACKWARDS AT 4000 K. ⭐ Having a correct sibling in the same range is what makes that identifiable as an error rather than an oddity.
• ⭐ Across the catalogue, 208 of 210 products publishing both figures run the expected way and only two do not. ⭐ This is one of the 208.

⚠ It shares one fault with its sibling though

⭐ Its colour-temperature field reads “3000K - 4000K - 6000K” in the lumen table, and the panel product codes named on the same sheet describe warm and neutral white variants. ⚠ The TRIM-312's cct field says 5000 K where its table says 6000 K. ⭐ Between the two documents the available colour temperatures are stated inconsistently. ⭐ Tell us which colour you need and we will confirm what can actually be ordered before you commit.

⭐ 595 × 295 mm — the half-module, and where it earns its place

• ⭐ A 595 × 295 mm panel is a half-module: half of the standard 600 mm grid tile.
• ⭐⭐ IN A DOMESTIC SETTING THAT IS OFTEN THE RIGHT SIZE, where a full 600 square would dominate. ⭐ Over a kitchen bench, in a laundry, along a hallway, or above a stair landing, a 600 × 300 panel gives even shadowless light without becoming the ceiling's main feature.
• ⭐ TWO OF THEM SIDE BY SIDE ALSO READ WELL over a run of bench — ⭐ better than one large square, because the light follows the working surface rather than sitting in the middle of the room.
• ⭐ At 36 W and 2,200–2,350 lumens it is a genuine room light — ⭐ enough for a laundry or a small kitchen on its own.

⭐ Why recessed rather than surface or grid

• ⭐ THREE MOUNTINGS EXIST FOR THE SAME PANEL: a suspended grid, this recessed trim, and a surface-mount kit. ⭐ They produce visibly different results.
• ⭐ GRID is for commercial ceilings that already have one — no work, panel drops in.
• ⭐⭐ RECESSED TRIM IS THE RESIDENTIAL ANSWER. ⭐ The panel sets flush into plasterboard with a plastered edge, so the ceiling reads as a plane with a light in it rather than a fitting stuck to it. ⭐ In a kitchen or laundry that is the whole difference.
• ⭐ SURFACE KIT is for ceilings that cannot be cut — concrete, fire-rated — and leaves the panel 66 mm proud. ⚠ Unmistakably commercial in a home.
• ⚠ The trim's cost is a plasterer as well as an electrician. ⭐ On new work that is nothing; on a retrofit it is a real addition.

⭐ 630 × 330 mm and 41 mm deep — an easy fit

⭐ At 595 mm the aperture fits comfortably between joists at 450 mm centres if it runs parallel to them, and crosses only one if it runs across. ⭐⭐ THAT IS A MEANINGFULLY EASIER INSTALLATION THAN THE 1,195 mm TRIM-312, WHICH CROSSES TWO OR THREE. ⭐ And 41 mm of depth is a modest void requirement — far less than a downlight body. ⭐ Decide the orientation against the joists before cutting.

⚠ Dimming: tested on one dimmer series only

⭐ The sheet is candid: dimmable, “Tested on the Domus dimmer series. May work on other but not tested.” ⭐⭐ READ THAT AS A WARNING RATHER THAN A DISCLAIMER. ⭐ LED dimming compatibility is genuinely unpredictable, and a panel on an untested dimmer commonly flickers, buzzes, or will not dim below half. ⭐ If dimming matters, use the Domus dimmer or tell us what is specified and we will check first.

⛔ And its datasheet describes the panel, not the trim

⭐ The sheet publishes 36 W, lumens and CRI ≥80 — the panel's figures. ⭐ A trim is a frame with an outside dimension, an aperture and a depth. ⭐ This programme has now found the pattern on four backlit-panel frames and both TRIM products: six frames, all carrying panel specifications. ⚠ The sheet is also flagged unverifiable, so it was used only where the product record corroborates it.
