TRAK 3 CIRCUIT CENTRE FEED LIVE JOINER

The Domus TRAK 3-circuit centre feed live joiner is the component that brings mains power into a track run from the middle, and joins two lengths of track at the same point. 40 × 180 × 40 mm, in black or white.

Why feed from the centre rather than the end

• ✅ It halves the distance current has to travel. A 6 m run fed from one end carries the whole load through the first metre; fed from the middle, each side carries half.
• ✅ It doubles the practical run length for the same feed, which is why centre feeds exist at all.
• ✅ It also puts the ceiling penetration in the middle of the room, which is often where an existing point already is — replacing a single pendant or batten with a track run usually means feeding from exactly there.
• ⚠ It joins two track lengths as well as feeding them. That is one part doing two jobs, and it means the feed position is fixed at a track joint rather than anywhere you like.

What three circuits gives you

• Three separately switched circuits share one physical track, and each fitting is set to one of the three when it is clicked in.
• ✅ One run, three lighting scenes — in retail: window, general, feature. Over a kitchen island: task, pendants, accent.
• ⚠ Three circuits means three switched supplies arriving at this feed. That is more cable and more switching than a single-circuit track, and it has to be planned before the ceiling closes. Tell your electrician at rough-in, not at fit-off.

Planning the run

• Track lengths — 1 m surface-mount and other sizes.
• This centre feed, or an end feed if you are feeding from one end.
• Joiners for any straight or angled junction that is not this feed.
• End caps at both ends of the run.
• ⚠ A track run is never just track. Any one part missing stops the job on the day — tell us the total length and shape and we will list every piece.

Where track earns its place

• ✅ Where the room's use will change — galleries, retail, studios, a home that gets rearranged.
• ✅ Where you cannot cut the ceiling — concrete, heritage, rated ceilings.
• ✅ Where you want to aim light and then adjust it after seeing it in place.
• ⛔ Not where the lighting should disappear. Track is visible and reads as deliberate or commercial — there is no half-measure.

Domus's description calls the system “capable of high power loads” without stating the figure. Tell us the fittings and the run length and we will obtain the rating from Domus before you design the layout. Warranty 3 years.
