The Domus ROD Mount Kit is a suspension kit for EXIT-SM and EXIT-REC exit signs — available in White or Black.
⭐ No drop length and no rod dimensions are published. ⭐ For a suspension kit those are the specification — how far below the ceiling the sign will sit, and whether the rods suit the fixing above. ⛔ Neither appears on the listing and no datasheet is attached.
⭐ The kit is listed for both the surface-mounted (SM) and recessed (REC) EXIT signs. ⚠ A recessed sign being suspended is an unusual combination — ⭐ it usually means converting a sign bought for one mounting method to another, which happens on refits when the ceiling turns out not to suit. ⭐ If that is what you are doing, tell us; there may be a cleaner answer than adapting.
⭐ Match the sign, not the ceiling. ⭐ Suspension rods are visible against a ceiling from below, and a mismatch draws the eye to the fixing rather than the sign. ⭐ In an exposed-services ceiling black usually disappears better; in a plastered white ceiling, white does.

Rod suspension kit to suit EXIT-SM and EXIT-REC exit signs. White or black. Passive — no wiring, no supply, no compliance role of its own. ⭐⭐ A ROD KIT DROPS AN EXIT SIGN INTO THE SIGHTLINE — a surface-mounted sign is useless in a warehouse or a hall where people look along the space rather than up at the ceiling. RIGID RODS RATHER THAN CABLE MATTER: a sign on cable swings and rotates, a sign on rods stays square to the direction of travel, which for a directional sign is the whole point. ⛔ NO DROP LENGTH AND NO ROD DIMENSIONS ARE PUBLISHED, and for a suspension kit those are the specification. Tell us the ceiling height, the height you want the sign at, and which sign it is.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Because it only works if it can be seen. A surface-mounted sign sits flat against the ceiling, which is fine in a corridor with a low flat ceiling and useless in a warehouse, a hall with exposed structure, or anywhere the sightline is along the space rather than up at it. A rod kit drops the sign to head height, which is where someone leaving in an emergency is actually looking.
Because a sign on cable swings and rotates, and a sign on rods stays square to the direction of travel. For a directional exit sign, which has to be read from a particular side, that is the whole point. It also lets a double-sided sign hang in the middle of an open space and serve people approaching from either direction.
Not published — and for a suspension kit that is the specification. No drop length and no rod dimensions appear on the listing, and no datasheet is attached. Tell us the ceiling height, the height you want the sign to sit at, and which sign you are mounting, and we can check the kit works and whether you need more than one length.
An exit sign is generally read from a distance along a space, so hanging it at or slightly above door head height — around 2.1 to 2.4m — keeps it in the sightline without putting it where people walk into it. The compliance requirement is about viewing distance and legibility rather than a fixed height, so confirm against the project's own certification requirements.
It should not. The record carries bulb_type = "Built-in LED" and a mounting kit has no LED. It is the same pattern we found on the reducer plate: of the catalogue's unambiguously passive parts — brackets, plates, arms — 15 of 15 publish at least one electrical field. A template default applied regardless of what the product is. We have not repeated it here.
That is how it is listed. A recessed sign being suspended is an unusual combination — it usually means converting a sign bought for one mounting method to another, which happens on refits when the ceiling turns out not to suit. If that is what you are doing, tell us; there may be a cleaner answer than adapting.
Match the sign, not the ceiling. Suspension rods are visible from below, and a mismatch draws the eye to the fixing rather than the sign. In an exposed-services ceiling black usually disappears better; in a plastered white ceiling, white does.
