The Domus PLEX-VIVID IP67 is a 24 V single-colour COB LED strip — 15 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, IP67, 1 m, in Vivid Red, Blue, Green or Yellow.

⭐⭐ This product settled a question about the whole range

• ⭐ We had measured that choosing IP67 costs about 15% of the light, on white strips. ⭐ The open question was whether that is the silicon coating absorbing light, or something specific to those products.
• ⭐⭐ THIS PAIR ANSWERS IT, BECAUSE THE COATING TREATS ALL FOUR COLOURS THE SAME:

• ⭐ The same 15% from deep red at 630 nm to blue at 470 nm — ⭐ right across the visible spectrum. ⭐ A coating that absorbed selectively would show a different figure at each wavelength. ⭐ This one does not.
• ⭐⭐ ACROSS THE PROGRAMME WE HAVE NOW MEASURED 23 PAIRS IN FOUR PRODUCT FAMILIES — ⭐ COB and SMD chips, whites and saturated colours — ⭐ mean −15.4% with very little spread. ⛔ Nothing in the catalogue mentions it.
• ⭐ THE PRACTICAL RULE: budget 15% when you specify IP67, and do not take it where IP54 will do.

⛔ And the colours still differ from each other by a factor of fifteen

⭐ Even after the coating, Green is 1,400 lm per metre and Red is 89 — ⭐ a 15.7× spread between variants of one product at one wattage and one price. ⭐ Part of that is the eye's own sensitivity curve, which peaks in the green; the rest is that deep-red emitters are less efficient and droop harder as they warm. ⭐ If a wet-area feature is designed around red, expect a quiet atmospheric effect and plan accordingly.

⭐ Where a sealed colour strip earns its place

⭐ Pool surrounds, spa edges, water features, external bar fronts, planters. ⭐ These are exactly the positions where saturated colour is wanted and where water arrives with force, ⭐ and a dotless coloured line reflected in water is a strong effect. ⚠ What to plan for: the run limit is 5 m from one end and 10 m from two, so a long poolside is several runs, ⭐ and every cut and termination opens the coating. ⭐ None of the range's connectors is rated above IP20, so those points must sit somewhere dry.

⛔⛔ Aluminium heat sink, mandatory

⭐ The sheet requires it in capitals and voids the warranty without it. ⭐ At 15 W per metre under a silicon coating that is also a thermal blanket, this is among the least marginal cases in the range — ⭐ the aluminium is the only path the heat has. ⛔ No description says so and none of the catalogue's 47 profiles names this strip.
