A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-RGB COB is a 24 V RGB COB LED strip — 14 W per metre, 840 LEDs per metre, IP54, 50 m pack.
| ⭐ PLEX COB (this) | PLEO flex 7.2 W | |
|---|---|---|
| Load per metre | 14 W | 7.2 W |
| ⭐ Run, one feed | ⭐ 5 m | ⭐ 20 m |
| Total watts at that run | 70 W | 144 W |
| ⭐ LED density | ⭐ 840 / m — dotless | 140 / m |
| Cut increment | ⭐ 25 mm | 50 mm |
⭐ At a 5 m single-feed limit, a 50 m pack is not one run — ⭐ it is ten of them, or five fed from both ends. ⭐ So this format suits a project rather than a room: a fitout with the same detail repeated through many spaces, bought once and cut on site. ⚠ It also means ten drivers, or five — ⭐ and that is the cost line people miss when comparing COB against a longer-reaching product. ⭐ Tell us the total metreage AND the number of separate runs; the second figure sets the driver count.
⭐ At 840 LEDs per metre, one LED sits every 1.19 mm, and 25 mm holds 21 of them. ⭐ So a cut segment is a block of 21 LEDs, and 25 mm is where that block ends. ⭐ A 25 mm increment is finer than the PLEO flex's 50 mm — ⭐ so your run rounds to half the error. ⭐ On lettering or a detail butting into a return, that is a real advantage.

RGB COB LED strip, 50 m pack. 14 W per metre at 24 V DC. 840 LEDs per metre, dotless. IP54. 25 mm cutting increments. Maximum run 5 m with a single tail and driver, 10 m fed both ends. Dimmable. CHAM-BT-RF-5C controller. ⭐⭐ IT LOOKS BETTER THAN FLEX AND RUNS A QUARTER AS FAR — 5 m from one feed against the PLEO flex's 20 m, while carrying HALF the total watts. ⭐ So it is not simply a current limit; the COB strip's conductors must be lighter. ⭐ THE CONSEQUENCE CHANGES LAYOUTS: a 12 m kitchen run is ONE flex and one driver, or THREE COB sections with three feeds — three driver locations, three cable routes, three things to fail. ⭐ A 50 m pack is ten runs, not one.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
5 metres with a single tail and driver, or 10 metres with a tail and driver at each end. Domus publishes both figures outright, which is unusual and genuinely useful.
It is not close. The flex reaches 20 metres from one feed and 40 from both; this reaches 5 and 10. And the comparison is stranger than it first looks: the COB strip carries half the total watts over a quarter of the distance — 70W across 5m against the flex's 144W across 20m. So it is not simply a current limit, or 70W would carry further than 144W rather than a quarter as far. The COB strip's conductors must be lighter.
It changes it. A 12 metre kitchen run is one PLEO flex and one driver, or three COB sections with three feeds — three driver locations to find, three cable routes, and three things to fail. That is the trade nobody states: COB for a short run seen close where dotless matters, flex for a long run where reach matters more than the last degree of smoothness.
A project rather than a room. At a 5 metre single-feed limit, 50 metres is ten runs — or five fed from both ends — so it suits a fitout with the same detail repeated through many spaces, bought once and cut on site. It also means ten drivers, or five, and that is the cost line people miss when comparing COB against a longer-reaching product.
The total metreage and the number of separate runs. The second figure is the one that sets the driver count, and metreage alone does not carry it. On a 50m pack that is the difference between five drivers and ten.
Because at 840 LEDs per metre one sits every 1.19mm, and 25mm holds 21 of them — so a cut segment is a block of 21 LEDs and 25mm is where that block ends. It is finer than the PLEO flex's 50mm increment, so your run rounds to half the error, which on lettering or a detail butting into a return is a real advantage.
A 24V DC driver per run and a colour controller. Domus names the CHAM-BT-RF-5C 5 Channel Controller and LED Driver, which is unusual in this catalogue — most strip listings name nothing. Five channels is more than RGB requires, so the same controller covers tuneable-white and RGB+TW strips too.
