The Domus PLEX-MICRO is a 24 V COB LED strip — under 10 mm wide, 8 W per metre, CRI ≥90, IP54, 1 m, at 640 / 680 / 720 lm per metre.

⭐ It exists for one reason: it fits where a standard strip will not

⭐ Domus's own description is precise about this — a “micro-width LED Strip that offers applications where small spaces require smaller than 10 mm widths”. ⭐ Standard PLEX-COB is a 10 mm board. This is narrower. ⭐ That single dimension is the whole product: slim shadow gaps, thin shelf edges, narrow profiles, tight reveals, the underside of a 12 mm shelf. ⭐ If a standard strip fits, use one; it will run further and cost less.

⭐⭐ And its run limit shows what actually sets run length in this catalogue

• ⭐ PLEX-MICRO runs 5 m on a single feed. ⭐ PLEX-ULTRA, which carries the SAME LED density on its spec sheet, runs 13 m.
• ⭐ And PLEX-MICRO draws LESS current per metre than PLEX-SMD-9 — 0.333 A against 0.375 — while running 5 m against 20. ⚠ Less current, a quarter of the run.
• ⭐⭐ SO NEITHER LOAD NOR LED DENSITY EXPLAINS IT. WIDTH DOES. ⭐ Voltage drop is current times the strip's own resistance, and a narrower board carries a narrower copper trace, which is a higher resistance per metre. ⭐ The thing that makes this strip useful — being under 10 mm — is the same thing that limits its run.
• ⭐ THAT IS NOT A FAULT, IT IS A CONSEQUENCE — ⭐ but it is worth knowing before you plan an eight metre shadow gap around a narrow reveal. ⭐ Feed it from both ends and you get 10 m; beyond that, it is two runs and two feeds.

⚠ Its own datasheet gives two LED densities — and two sources beat one

• ⭐ The product title says 480 per metre. The datasheet's own description says 480. The datasheet's spec table says 560.
• ⭐ Two sources against one, and the two that agree are the ones a buyer actually reads.
• ⭐ The cross-check supports 480 too: standard PLEX-COB is 640 per metre on a 10 mm board, and this is the NARROWER product — ⭐ so a lower density is the coherent reading, and 560 would be oddly close to the wider strip.
• ⭐ WE HAVE USED 480, and either figure is dense enough to be genuinely dotless — ⭐ 2.1 mm spacing at 480, 1.8 mm at 560, both well below the point where individual LEDs become visible through a diffuser. ⭐ So the discrepancy affects the record rather than what you see.

⭐ 8 W per metre — brighter than you would expect from something this narrow

⭐ 640 lm at 3000 K, 680 at 4000, 720 at 5000 — ⭐ 80 to 90 lumens per watt. ⭐ That puts it between the 5 W and 10 W standard-width strips in output while occupying less than half the width. ⚠ The efficiency is slightly behind the wider strips, which follows from the same constraint: less board means less heat-spreading area, and hotter LEDs are less efficient. ⭐ The aluminium profile matters more here than anywhere.

⚠ Two practical cautions

• ⚠ The cutting increment is 50 mm, twice PLEX-COB's 25 mm. ⭐ On the short decorative runs this strip suits, that is a real constraint — a 380 mm shelf edge takes a 350 mm length. ⭐ Check the dimension before committing to joinery.
• ⛔ The profile has to be narrow too. ⭐ The heat sink is mandatory and voids the warranty if omitted, and the catalogue's 47 profiles do not state which strips they suit. ⭐ Tell us the strip and the gap and we will match a profile that fits both.

WIDTH DOES: a narrower board carries a narrower copper trace, which is a higher resistance per metre. ⭐ The thing that makes this strip useful is the same thing that limits its run. ⚠ ITS OWN SHEET GIVES TWO DENSITIES — 480 in the title and description, 560 in the spec table; we use 480, and either is dotless.
