A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-COB Tuneable is a 24 V tuneable-white COB LED strip — 20 W per metre, 840 LEDs per metre, CRI90, 2700–6500 K, IP54, 1 m.
| Strip | Load | ⭐ Density |
|---|---|---|
| PLEX-COB-5 | 5 W/m | 640 / m |
| PLEX-COB-10 | 10 W/m | 640 / m |
| PLEX-COB-15 | 15 W/m | 640 / m |
| PLEX-COB-20 | 20 W/m | 640 / m |
| PLEX-RGB | 14 W/m | ⭐ 840 / m |
| ⭐ Tuneable — this one | ⭐ 20 W/m | ⭐ 840 / m |
⭐ On a fixed strip a sample shows you one colour. ⭐ On this one it shows you the whole range against your actual materials — ⭐ which is the only way to find out whether 2700 K is too warm on your timber or 6500 K too cold on your stone. ⭐ Buy the metre and a small driver before committing to a roll.

Tuneable-white COB LED strip, 1 m. 20 W per metre at 24 V DC. 840 LEDs per metre. CRI90. 2700–6500 K. IP54. Driver and controller required. ⭐ 2700–6500 K SPANS WIDER THAN ANY FIXED OPTION — as warm as the warmest and 1500 K cooler than the coolest. ⭐ BUT THE REAL ARGUMENT IS NOT THE RANGE: it is not having to choose in advance. A fixed strip's colour is decided at order and the room is finished months later, when the timber came in warmer than the sample and the stone greyer. ⭐ Tuneable moves that decision to handover, with the materials in front of you.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
2700 to 6500K continuously. The single-colour PLEX-COB strips are sold at 2700, 3000, 4000 and 5000K, so this goes as warm as the warmest fixed option and 1500K cooler than the coolest — 6500K is daylight, well beyond anything the fixed range offers.
No — the main reason is not having to choose in advance. On a fixed strip the colour is decided at order and the room is finished months later. Timber comes in warmer than the sample, stone comes in greyer, a paint reads differently at scale, and a fixed 4000K strip that looked right on paper can be visibly wrong against what actually got built. Tuneable moves that decision to handover.
In a garage, a store or a plant room — anywhere the colour is not being judged. The cost is 20W per metre, a controller, and a control the client has to understand. That is worth it where the colour genuinely matters and unnecessary where it does not.
Because a tuneable strip carries two sets of emitters — warm and cool — interleaved along the same board. More emitters in the same space is what makes that possible. The single-colour PLEX-COB strips keep 640 per metre constant across 5, 10, 15 and 20W and vary only the wattage, so brightness is chosen without changing smoothness.
Because at full warm or full cool only half the emitters are working hard — the 20W is what it draws with both sets contributing, around the middle of the range. Size the driver at 20W per metre regardless, since that is the worst case and running a driver at its limit shortens its life.
On this product especially. On a fixed strip a sample shows you one colour; on this one it shows you the whole range against your actual materials — which is the only way to find out whether 2700K is too warm on your timber or 6500K too cold on your stone. Buy the metre and a small driver before committing to a roll.
A 24V DC driver and a controller. The PLEX range names the CHAM-BT-RF-5C 5 Channel Controller, which is sized for the most demanding strip in the family and therefore covers this one. Tell us the run and how you want to control it and we will quote all three.
