The Domus PLEX-COB Straight Strip-to-Strip Connector is a solderless joiner — 5 pack, for Micro, tuneable, RGB or RGBTW strip.
| Strip type | Channels | ⭐ What the connector must carry |
|---|---|---|
| Single colour | 1 | ⭐ Two conductors |
| Tuneable white | 2 — warm and cool | ⭐ Three |
| RGB | 3 — red, green, blue | ⭐ Four |
| ⭐ RGBTW | ⭐ 5 — RGB plus warm and cool | ⭐ Six — the most of the four |
⭐ This is the STRAIGHT joiner: two lengths in line. ⭐ Domus also lists L-SHAPED and FLEXIBLE strip-to-strip connectors — ⚠ but its own description says those are for the SINGLE COLOUR COB strip only. ⭐ So on an RGB or tuneable run, a corner has to be made with a flylead cable rather than a rigid corner piece, ⚠ and that changes how a corner detail is built. ⭐ Worth knowing before the joinery is drawn.
⛔ It publishes a colour temperature of RGB — ⚠ on a listing whose whole point is that it comes in four types. ⛔ And it is flagged “cut to length”, which a connector cannot be.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Function | ⭐ Straight strip-to-strip joiner |
| Pack | 5 connectors |
| ⭐ Variants | ⭐ Micro · tuneable · RGB · RGBTW — ⚠ not interchangeable |
| ⭐ Installation | ⭐ Solderless — a pair of pliers |
| ⭐ Pulling force | ⭐ 4.64 kgf |
| ⭐ Fits inside the profile | ⭐ Yes — ⭐ so a join does not break the line |
| ⚠ L-shaped / flexible versions | ⚠ Single-colour strip only |
| Suits | ⭐ IP54 COB strip — ⚠ IP67 not named |
| ⛔ Colour temperature field | ⛔ Publishes “RGB” on a four-type listing |
| ⛔ Conductor counts | ⛔ Not published — ⭐ they are why the variants exist |
Domus flags this as made to order, so it is not held on a shelf. ⛔ No lead time is published. Call our team to confirm availability before ordering. ⭐ We will. ⚠ The flag also says "cut to length", which comes from a generic sentence about the STRIP — ⭐ a connector cannot be cut to length, and nothing about the lead time depends on that.
Solderless straight strip-to-strip connector for PLEX-COB LED strip, 5 pack. Micro, tuneable, RGB or RGBTW. Attaches with pliers, no soldering. Pulling force 4.64 kgf. Fits inside the profile. ⭐ FOUR VARIANTS BECAUSE EACH STRIP TYPE CARRIES A DIFFERENT NUMBER OF CONDUCTORS — single colour needs two, tuneable three, RGB four, and RGBTW six. An RGB connector physically cannot serve an RGBTW strip. ⭐⭐ AND JOINING IS THE NORMAL CASE ON COB, NOT AN EXCEPTION: the strip's published run limit is 5 m from one feed, so a 12 m kitchen line is three sections and two joins. ⭐ That the connector fits INSIDE the profile is what lets a joined run still read as one line.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Because each strip type carries a different number of conductors, and they are not interchangeable. An LED strip has one conductor per channel plus a common: single colour is one channel and two conductors, tuneable white is two channels and three conductors, RGB is three and four, and RGBTW is five channels and six conductors.
It will not work. An RGB connector physically cannot serve an RGBTW strip — it is two conductors short. And a connector with too many contacts on a simpler strip will not align with the pads. Match the connector to the strip type, not to the job, and tell us which strip you are running.
For the same reason. RGBTW is the most demanding type in the family at five channels, so a five-channel controller covers all of them — single colour, tuneable, RGB and RGBTW. It is sized for the hardest case so one controller type serves a mixed project.
Because the PLEX COB strip has a published maximum run of 5 metres from one feed, and almost any real run is longer than that. So joining is not an occasional repair on this product — it is the normal case. A 12 metre kitchen line is three sections and at least two joins.
Not if the connector stays in the channel, and Domus states these fit inside the profile. That is the reason a joined run can still read as one line. A joiner that had to sit outside the channel would force a visible break every 5 metres — which on a dotless COB strip, chosen precisely for its continuity, would defeat the point.
Not with this one — it is the straight joiner, two lengths in line. Domus also lists L-shaped and flexible strip-to-strip connectors, but its own description says those are for the single colour COB strip only. So on an RGB or tuneable run, a corner has to be made with a flylead cable rather than a rigid corner piece, and that changes how a corner detail is built. Worth knowing before the joinery is drawn.
No — a pair of pliers, as with the rest of the PLEX-COB accessory range. Domus also publishes a pulling force of 4.64 kgf, which is roughly four and a half kilograms of straight pull, and very few accessories in any catalogue state a retention figure at all.

| ⚠ So an RGB connector on an RGBTW strip | Is two conductors SHORT — ⛔ it cannot work |
