⛔⛔ It must be mounted on an aluminium heat sink, or the warranty is void
- ⭐ This product's own datasheet states it in capitals: “All LED strip must be installed on an aluminium heat sink, failure to do so WILL VOID WARRANTY.”
- ⭐ Seventeen strip sheets in the range carry the requirement and sixteen state the warranty consequence — ⭐ it is the range's rule, not this product's quirk.
- ⛔ AND NO PRODUCT DESCRIPTION REPEATS IT. ⭐ It lives only inside a PDF a buyer has to open and read. ⛔ Nor does any of the catalogue's 47 aluminium profiles mention this strip range — ⭐ so the requirement and the thing that satisfies it sit in the same catalogue with no link in either direction.

Questions
Is the 5W strip a compromise?
No — it is the one with the fewest consequences. Smallest driver, longest reach, least heat, fewest feed points, and on an IP67 job the fewest cuts. And it looks identical to every other wattage, because they all carry the same 640 LEDs per metre.
How much difference does the driver make?
A great deal. Over a 5 metre run the 5W strip needs a 30W driver — small enough to hide inside joinery. The 20W strip over the same five metres needs 120W, which is roughly a large paperback, generates real heat and needs its own ventilated space. That is a joinery consequence of a brightness choice.
And the reach?
The 5W strip draws 0.21A per metre against the 20W strip's 0.83A, and voltage drop follows current — so it reaches furthest in the range. On a long cove or a continuous line, that means fewer feed points and fewer drivers before you even consider the load.
So when should I use a higher wattage?
For surfaces genuinely worked at — a kitchen bench, a workbench, a task position. For a cove, a shadow gap, a shelf line, a stair nosing or any decorative run, 5W per metre usually does the job. Reserve the higher wattages for where the light is being used rather than seen.
How do I decide?

Because 2700K exists only on the 5W and 10W models across the whole PLEX-COB range — there is none at 15 or 20W at all. That is coherent: 2700K is a domestic, atmospheric colour and it lives at the wattages used for atmosphere. Combined with 5W per metre in a cove, it is the softest, warmest line this range produces.
What do I need to try the sample?
A small 24V driver. Tell us it is for a sample and we will suggest the smallest sensible one rather than the size the final run would need. It is worth doing properly — a metre held up unlit tells you nothing.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations
