The Domus PLEX-COB-5-IP67 is a 24 V COB LED strip — 5 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, IP67, 1 m, in 2700 K at 390 lm per metre.

⛔⛔⛔ It must be mounted on an aluminium heat sink, or the warranty is void

• ⭐ The datasheet states it in capitals: “All LED strip must be installed on an aluminium heat sink, failure to do so WILL VOID WARRANTY.”
• ⭐ We checked every strip sheet in the range. ⭐ Seventeen state the requirement and sixteen state the warranty consequence. ⭐ It is the range's rule, not this product's quirk.
• ⛔ AND NOT ONE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION REPEATS IT. ⭐ Zero of the strip listings say it in their own text — ⭐ it lives only inside a PDF a buyer has to open and read.
• ⛔ NOR DOES ANY PROFILE PAGE. ⭐ The catalogue sells 47 aluminium profiles — exactly the thing this strip requires — and NONE of them mentions PLEX-COB or a heat-sink role.
• ⭐⭐ SO THE TWO HALVES OF ONE INSTALLATION SIT IN THE CATALOGUE WITHOUT A LINK IN EITHER DIRECTION. ⚠ A buyer can order the strip, install it exactly as the photographs show it, and have no warranty.
• ⭐ THE PRACTICAL RULE: budget a profile with every metre of strip. ⭐ It is not a finishing option — it is the heat sink the warranty depends on. ⭐ Tell us the run and we will quote the strip and the profile together.

⭐ Why aluminium, and why it is not fussiness

⭐ 640 LEDs per metre in a 10 mm strip is a dense heat source, and LEDs lose both output and life when they run hot. ⭐ The aluminium is the only path that heat has out. ⚠ On IP67 the point is sharper still: the silicon coating that provides the rating is also a thermal blanket. ⭐ So the waterproof version needs the heat sink MORE than the IP54 one does, not less. ⭐ The published 50,000-hour life assumes it.

⭐⭐ And the run limit is not what the family text implies

• ⭐ The sheet is precise: “Continuous Run: 5 m Max (one end driver feed) 10 m (two end driver feed)”.
• ⭐ FEEDING FROM BOTH ENDS DOUBLES THE RUN. ⭐ It halves the current each half carries, so the drop halves too. ⭐ Same strip, same driver, one extra cable — and twice the unbroken length.
• ⭐ That matters most on IP67, ⭐ because every intermediate cut breaks the silicon coating. ⭐ A 10 m two-end run has ZERO cuts where two 5 m one-end runs have one.
• ⚠ AND THE 5 M FIGURE IS PLEX-COB'S, NOT THE CATALOGUE'S. ⭐ Across the strip sheets the limit varies eightfold:

⭐ SO A LONG UNBROKEN RUN IS NOT A PLEX-COB JOB. ⭐ If the requirement is a single continuous line of 20 or 40 metres, PLEX-SMD reaches it on one feed where PLEX-COB needs eight drivers. ⚠ PLEX-SMD is not dotless, so it is a real trade — but it is a trade nothing in the catalogue puts in front of you.

⭐ Real figures, at last — and 2700 K is the reason to look here

⭐ This sheet publishes per-metre lumens for all four colours, which most listings do not: ⭐ 2700 K 390 lm, 3000 K 380 lm, 4000 K and 5000 K 425 lm. ⭐ 2700 K is the warmest the range goes, ⭐ and it is available in only two formats — this 1 m and the 50 m roll. ⛔ There is no 5 m or 20 m 2700 K. ⭐ So you can sample it, or commit to fifty metres of it, with nothing in between. ⭐ Ask us and we will get an intermediate length.
