The Domus PLEX-COB-5-20M is a 24 V COB LED strip — 5 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, IP54, 20 m roll, in 3000, 4000 or 5000 K at 450 / 500 / 500 lm per metre.

⭐⭐ Twenty metres is two runs, not four — if you feed from both ends
  • ⭐ The sheet gives two limits, not one: “Continuous Run: 5 m Max (one end driver feed) 10 m (two end driver feed)”.
  • ⭐ Feeding a length from both ends halves the current each half carries, so the voltage drop halves too. ⭐ Same strip, same driver, one extra cable run — and twice the unbroken length.

⭐ The sheet publishes per-metre lumens: 3000 K 450 lm, 4000 K 500 lm, 5000 K 500 lm — ⭐ so 90 to 100 lumens per watt, which is respectable for CRI ≥90. ⭐ High colour rendering always costs efficiency; getting 100 lm/W alongside CRI90 is a good balance rather than a compromise. ⭐ Over twenty metres that is 9,000 to 10,000 lumens for 100 W — ⭐ the equivalent of roughly ten to twelve downlights, spread as a continuous line.

How many drivers does 20 metres need?

Two, if you feed each run from both ends. The sheet gives two limits — 5 metres from one end, 10 metres from two — so twenty metres is either four runs on one-end feeds or two runs on two-end feeds. Two runs means half the drivers and a third of the cuts.

Does the two-end feed cost more cable?

No, that is the good part. A two-end run needs two cables where a one-end run needs one, so across twenty metres you run four feed cables either way. The wiring effort is identical and the driver count halves. It is close to free.

Why does feeding both ends work?

Because it halves the current each half of the run carries, and voltage drop follows current. The far end of a one-end 10 metre run would be dim; fed from both ends, the weakest point is the middle and it is only carrying half as much.

Is there a condition?

Both feeds must come from the same driver, or from drivers that are genuinely matched. Mismatched supplies fighting each other across a strip is the one way to get this wrong. Tell us the run and we will size it properly.

Does it need an aluminium profile?

Yes — the datasheet states in capitals that all LED strip must be installed on an aluminium heat sink and that failure to do so will void the warranty, and seventeen strip sheets repeat it. Zero descriptions say it and zero of the catalogue's 47 profiles mention PLEX-COB. Twenty metres of strip means twenty metres of profile too, and that is a material cost that belongs in the budget from the start.

How much light does the roll give?

450 lumens per metre at 3000K and 500 at 4000 and 5000K, so 9,000 to 10,000 lumens across the roll for 100 watts. That is roughly ten to twelve downlights' worth, spread as a continuous line.

Is 90 to 100 lm/W good?

For CRI ≥90, yes. High colour rendering always costs efficiency — the phosphors that fill in the colour spectrum absorb light doing it — so getting 100 lm/W alongside CRI90 is a good balance rather than a compromise. A CRI80 strip would be brighter per watt and noticeably worse on skin tones and timber.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
