A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-COB-20-IP67 is a 24 V COB LED strip — 20 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, CRI90, IP67, 50 m, in 3000, 4000 or 5000 K.
| Figure | ⭐ Value | Published? |
|---|---|---|
| Total load | ⭐ 1000 W | ⛔ No — ⭐ wattage is per metre |
| Runs at a 5 m limit | ⭐ 10 | ⛔ No — ⭐ limit is in the family text |
| Drivers at ≈120 W | ⭐ 10 | ⛔ No |
| Intermediate cuts | ⭐ 9 | ⛔ No |
| Terminations | ⭐ 20 | ⛔ No |
| ⭐ Breaks in the IP67 seal | ⭐ 29 | ⛔ No |
⭐ Almost certainly not everywhere. ⭐ All four PLEX-COB wattages carry the same 640 LEDs per metre and look identical — ⭐ so mixing them across a job costs nothing visually. ⭐ Fifty metres at 20 W is 1000 W and ten drivers; the same fifty at 10 W is 500 W, reaches further, and needs fewer. ⭐ Use 20 W where a surface is genuinely worked at, and 10 or 5 W everywhere else. ⚠ Buying one wattage for a whole project is the simplest order and the most expensive design.
⭐ This listing carries 3000, 4000 and 5000 K. ⚠ Across the ten PLEX-COB-20 listings, only this and the 5 m IP67 pack do — ⭐ the 1 m sells 5000 K alone, and the two 20 m listings split the colours between them. ⭐ So if a project needs more than one colour in IP67 at 20 W, this is one of only two places to get them from a single page.
⭐ Fifty metres is a single production run — ⭐ which across ten separate lengths in one building keeps the white consistent where two runs meet at a corner or face each other across a room. ⭐ White LEDs vary slightly between batches, and the eye catches it. ⭐ If the job needs more than fifty metres, ask us for consecutive rolls from one batch — free to request, impossible afterwards.

COB LED strip, IP67 silicon coated, 50 m. 20 W per metre at 24 V DC, 1000 W total. 640 LEDs per metre, dotless. CRI90. 3000, 4000 or 5000 K. Ten drivers at approximately 120 W. 3-year warranty. ⭐⭐ A 50 m IP67 ORDER AT 20 W IS NOT A LIGHTING DECISION — IT IS TWENTY-NINE WATERPROOFING DECISIONS: nine intermediate cuts and twenty terminations, every one opening the silicon coating that provides the rating, with no connector in the range rated above IP20. ⭐ TEN 5 m PACKS REMOVE NINE OF THEM, for the same strip, length and driver count. ⭐ And 1000 W across ten drivers is the largest single load in the PLEX-COB range — none of which appears on the listing.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Numbers nobody adds up. 1000 watts total load. Ten runs at the published 5 metre limit. Ten drivers at about 120W each. Nine intermediate cuts. Twenty terminations. And twenty-nine points where the silicon coating that provides the IP67 rating is opened. None of those figures appears on the listing.
Because a 50 metre IP67 order at 20W is not really a lighting decision — it is twenty-nine waterproofing decisions. Every one of those points has to end up somewhere dry, and none of the range's connectors is rated above IP20. On a wet-area project that is the constraint that shapes the whole layout.
By nine. Ten 5 metre packs give the same strip, the same fifty metres and the same ten drivers with zero intermediate cuts, because each pack is exactly one run. Twenty terminations remain. Nothing in the catalogue suggests this substitution.
Almost certainly not. All four PLEX-COB wattages carry the same 640 LEDs per metre and look identical, so mixing them across a job costs nothing visually. Fifty metres at 20W is 1000W and ten drivers; the same fifty at 10W is 500W, reaches further, and needs fewer. Use 20W where a surface is genuinely worked at and 10 or 5W everywhere else.
Simpler to order and more expensive to design, install and run. It is the default people fall into, and it is worth resisting on a job this size — the saving from mixing wattages is substantial and the visual cost is nil.
In IP67 at this wattage, yes. Across the ten PLEX-COB-20 listings only this and the 5 metre IP67 pack carry all three — the 1m sells 5000K alone, and the two 20m listings split the colours between them. So if a project needs more than one colour in IP67 at 20W, this is one of only two places to get them from a single page.
Yes. Fifty metres is a single production run, which across ten separate lengths in one building keeps the white consistent where two runs meet at a corner or face each other across a room. White LEDs vary slightly between batches and the eye catches it. If the job needs more than fifty metres, ask us for consecutive rolls from one batch — free to request, impossible afterwards.
