The Domus PLEX-COB-20-20M is a 24 V COB LED strip — 20 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, 180° beam, IP54, dimmable, 20 m roll.
| Approach | ⭐ Verdict |
|---|---|
| ⭐ All four in one ventilated cupboard | ⭐ Best — ⭐ one place to service, one heat load to manage |
| Two pairs, at each end of the job | ⭐ Reasonable — ⭐ shorter cable runs |
| Four separate ceiling voids | ⚠ Four access panels — ⭐ or four unreachable drivers |
| ⛔ Inside the joinery or the cove | ⛔ Will not fit, and would cook |
⭐ This side of the range publishes a dimmable confirmation, and at 20 W per metre it is worth acting on. ⭐ The highest output in the range is often more than a finished room wants — ⚠ a bench that needs 20 W while you are working on it needs far less when you are not. ⭐ Dimming lets one installation serve both, ⭐ and it extends driver and LED life by running below full output most of the time. ⚠ The dimming happens at the DRIVER, so specify a dimmable 24 V driver — a non-dimmable one on a dimmable strip gives a non-dimmable installation, discovered at commissioning.

COB LED strip, 20 m roll. 20 W per metre at 24 V DC, 400 W total. 640 LEDs per metre, dotless. 3000 / 4000 / 5000 K. 180° beam. IP54. Dimmable. Four drivers at approximately 120 W. 3-year warranty. ⭐ FOUR 120 W DRIVERS IS A REAL VOLUME OF EQUIPMENT — roughly four large paperbacks, all generating heat, all needing ventilation and all needing to stay reachable. ⭐ HEAT IS THE PART PEOPLE FORGET: at 85% efficiency the four dissipate about 70 W continuously, which in a sealed cupboard shortens driver life — and driver life determines when the installation first fails. ⭐ VENTILATE IT. ⭐ And price the 10 W strip: half the load, half the heat, and it looks identical.

Four, at about 120W each. Twenty metres at 20W per metre is 400W, and the published single-feed limit is 5 metres — so four runs and four drivers. That count is not stated on the listing.
All four in one ventilated cupboard is usually best — one place to service and one heat load to manage. Two pairs at each end of the job is reasonable and gives shorter cable runs. Four separate ceiling voids means four access panels, or four unreachable drivers. Inside joinery or a cove is not an option: they will not fit and would cook.
Because it is the part people forget, and it determines when the installation first fails. A driver at 85% efficiency dissipates about 18W as heat, so four of them in a sealed cupboard is roughly 70W of continuous heating in a small volume. That shortens driver life, and the driver is already the part that fails first in any low-voltage installation. Ventilate the cupboard.
Price the 10W strip. Over the same twenty metres it is 200W, reaches further, and may need only two or three drivers — half the equipment, half the heat, and it looks identical because the LED density is the same 640 per metre. Whether it gives enough light depends on what the run is doing.
Because the highest output in the range is often more than a finished room wants. A bench that needs 20W per metre while you are working on it needs far less when you are not, and dimming lets one installation serve both. It also extends driver and LED life by running below full output most of the time.
At the driver, not the strip. Specify a dimmable 24V driver — a non-dimmable one on a dimmable strip gives a non-dimmable installation, and that is discovered at commissioning rather than at order. Tell us the control you intend to use and we will match the driver.
Yes. 640 LEDs per metre is constant, and one roll is one batch — so all four runs come from the same production and the white is consistent between them. That matters where two runs meet at a corner or face each other across a room.

| ⚠ Which shortens driver life | ⭐ And driver life determines when the installation first FAILS |
| ⭐⭐ VENTILATE THE CUPBOARD | ⭐ Grouping them is best — one place to service |
| ⛔ Not inside joinery or a cove | ⚠ They will not fit and would cook |
| ⭐ THE ALTERNATIVE WORTH PRICING | ⭐ 10 W over 20 m = 200 W — ⭐ half the heat, ⭐ looks identical |
