A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-COB-15 is a 24 V COB LED strip — 15 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, CRI90, IP54, 5 m pack, in 3000, 4000 or 5000 K.
| Load | Current per metre at 24 V | ⭐ Reach | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 W/m | 0.21 A | ⭐ Furthest | ⭐ Long coves, accent lines |
| 10 W/m | 0.42 A | ⭐ 5 m published | General purpose |
| ⭐ 15 W/m — this one | 0.63 A | ⚠ Shorter than 10 W | ⭐ Task light — benches, joinery |
| 20 W/m | 0.83 A | ⛔ Shortest | Bright accent, short runs |
⭐ At 15 W per metre this is a working light rather than an accent. ⭐ Under a kitchen bench it lights the surface properly rather than washing it; ⭐ over a workbench or in joinery it does real work. ⚠ In a cove or a shadow gap it is likely more than the effect needs — ⭐ and there the 5 W version both looks better and reaches further. ⭐ Choosing a lower wattage for a decorative run is the easiest saving in this range.
⭐ Five metres at 15 W is 75 W — ⭐ so a 90 W driver with headroom. ⭐ One pack, one run, one driver, no joins. ⚠ Note that a 90 W driver is a substantial object — ⭐ it needs a cupboard or an accessible ceiling void, not a cove detail.
| Specification | Value |

COB LED strip, 5 m pack. 15 W per metre at 24 V DC, 75 W total. 640 LEDs per metre, dotless. CRI90. 3000, 4000 or 5000 K. IP54. Driver required, approximately 90 W. ⭐ THE WATTAGE LADDER IS A BRIGHTNESS-AGAINST-REACH TRADE AND NOTHING SAYS SO — all four wattages carry the same 640 LEDs per metre, so the dotless quality never changes, but the load per metre sets the current and the current sets how far the strip carries. ⭐ 5 W reaches furthest; 20 W least. ⭐ PICK THE WATTAGE FROM THE LIGHT LEVEL, THEN CHECK THE RUN AGAINST IT — choosing 15 W for a 6 m bench and discovering it needs two feeds is the common mistake.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
From the light level you need, then check the run against it — not the other way round. All four PLEX-COB wattages carry the same 640 LEDs per metre, so the dotless quality never changes and only the output does. But the wattage also sets how far the strip carries, and nothing in the listings says so.
Because voltage drop is driven by current, and current follows the load per metre. At 24V, 5W per metre draws 0.21A, 10W draws 0.42A, 15W draws 0.63A and 20W draws 0.83A. So the 5W strip reaches furthest and the 20W least — the exact reverse of what a brightness-led choice would suggest.
Not broken out. Domus publishes a 5 metre single-feed limit for the range without splitting it by wattage. At 15W the current is half again what a 10W strip draws, so 5 metres is likely a ceiling rather than a comfortable figure. Ask us before running a full 5 metres at this wattage.
Task lighting. Under a kitchen bench it lights the surface properly rather than washing it; over a workbench or in joinery it does real work. In a cove or a shadow gap it is likely more than the effect needs — and there the 5W version both looks better and reaches further. Choosing a lower wattage for a decorative run is the easiest saving in this range.
75 watts of load, so a 90W driver with headroom. Note that a 90W driver is a substantial object — it needs a cupboard or an accessible ceiling void, not a cove detail. That is worth checking before the joinery is built.
No. 640 per metre is one every 1.56mm, dotless, and that density is identical across the 5, 10, 15 and 20W versions. So you can change the wattage without changing how the line looks — only how bright it is.
Three years, though published on the other product line rather than this one. The same strip is sold under two category names, and this side carries no warranty, beam angle or dimmable field while the other carries all three. The strip is identical; only the write-up differs.

| ⭐⭐ THE WATTAGE LADDER IS BRIGHTNESS **vs REACH** | ⚠ And nothing in the catalogue says so |
| ⭐ All four wattages share 640 LEDs/m | ⭐ So the dotless quality NEVER changes |
| ⭐ But load per metre sets CURRENT | ⭐ And current sets how far the strip carries |
| ⭐ 5 W/m = 0.21 A | ⭐ Reaches FURTHEST — ⭐ long coves, accent lines |
| ⭐ 15 W/m (this) = 0.63 A | ⚠ Shorter than 10 W — ⭐ task light for benches and joinery |
| ⛔ 20 W/m = 0.83 A | ⛔ Shortest reach |
| ⛔ The 5 m limit is not broken out by wattage | ⚠ At 15 W it is likely a CEILING, not a comfortable figure |
| ⭐⭐ THE RULE | Pick wattage from the LIGHT LEVEL — ⭐ then check the run against it |

| ⭐ 5 m at 15 W = 75 W | ⭐ A 90 W driver — ⚠ which needs a cupboard, not a cove |
| ⭐ For a cove take the 5 W | ⭐ It looks better AND reaches further — ⭐ the easiest saving here |
