The Domus PLEO 6.5×11 mm Bendable Profile is a bendable aluminium channel for LED strip and neon flex — sold per metre, with mounting clips, in polished aluminium.
⭐ Of the three Pleo sections this is the one that is clearly taller than it is wide — ⭐ 6.5 mm across, 11 mm deep. ⭐ That depth is useful if you are running BARE STRIP rather than flex, ⭐ because depth is what blends separate LEDs into a line. ⚠ But it also means the profile reads as a taller object when surface mounted, ⭐ and it looks different depending on which way it is turned — ⚠ unlike the square 10 × 10, which presents the same face however it is rotated. ⭐ On a run that changes plane, that matters.
⭐ Neon flex is a continuous silicone-encased emitter, diffused along its whole length — ⭐ so it arrives as a line and does not need depth to become one. ⭐ Which is the point of this family: the profile is a housing and a shape, not an optical device. ⚠ If you plan to run bare strip instead, the depth question returns and this is a better section for it than the 4 × 8.

Bendable aluminium LED profile, 6.5 × 11 mm, sold per metre and cut to length. Recessed or surface mounted. Supplied with mounting clips. Polished aluminium, powder coat on request. Houses PLEO neon flex and compatible LED strip. Order code LP-0611-BD. ⭐ FOUR THINGS DECIDE WHETHER A BENDABLE PROFILE COMES OUT WELL, AND NOTHING PUBLISHED COVERS THEM: form it BEFORE the strip goes in; bend gradually along the length rather than sharply at a point; work to a traced template rather than by eye; and allow extra length, because an arc is longer than the chord it spans. ⛔ AND THE MINIMUM BEND RADIUS IS NOT PUBLISHED — buy a spare metre to test on.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
By hand or over a former, on site, to your curve — that is its whole advantage, and also the part with no instructions. Four things decide whether it comes out well: form it before the strip goes in; bend gradually along the length rather than sharply at a point; work to a traced template rather than by eye; and allow extra length.
Because bending a channel with flex already seated risks pinching it, and a damaged flex inside a formed channel means starting again. Form first, then seat the flex into the finished shape — it is the sequence that costs nothing and saves the most.
Because an even curve comes from many small movements. One firm pull produces a flat spot with a kink at each end, which is immediately visible once the run is lit — a lit line shows every irregularity in the channel holding it.
Because eyeballing a radius produces something that looks wrong beside the joinery it is meant to follow. Trace the actual curve onto a board or the floor and form to that. The eye is very good at spotting a curve that nearly matches another curve, which is exactly the failure mode here.
Enough for the arc rather than the chord — an arc is always longer than the straight line it spans, and it is easy to order the straight-line distance by mistake. On a gentle curve the difference is small; on a tight one it is substantial. Measure along the curve, not across it.
Not published, and it is the figure that governs all of the above. At 6.5 x 11mm this section is deeper than the 4 x 8 and will resist a tight curve more. Ask us, and buy a spare metre to test on before committing the whole run.
Better than the 4 x 8, yes. At 11mm deep it gives more distance between the LEDs and the diffuser, and depth is what blends separate LEDs into a line. With neon flex the question does not arise at all — flex is a continuous diffused emitter and arrives as a line already.
