Domus Pleo 4X8MM Rigid Profile P/M

The Domus PLEO 4×8 mm Rigid Profile is an aluminium channel for LED strip and neon flex — sold per metre, with mounting clips, in polished aluminium.

⭐ Rigid or bendable — the decision is about straightness, not about curves

• ⚠ The obvious reading is that you take bendable if you have a curve and rigid if you do not. ⭐ That is half of it.
• ⭐ The other half: a RIGID profile holds a straight line dead straight, and a bendable one will not. ⭐ A bendable extrusion is soft by design — ⚠ which means it follows whatever it is fixed to, including a shelf that bows, a plasterboard reveal that waves, or a mounting clip set a millimetre proud.
• ⭐ Over a long straight run, a rigid profile is a straightedge that corrects the substrate. ⭐ A bendable one reproduces it faithfully — ⚠ and a lit line shows every deviation.
• ⭐ So for a long straight run on imperfect joinery, RIGID is not merely adequate — it is better. ⭐ That is the opposite of the intuitive reading, and it is the more useful half.

⭐ 4 × 8 mm — the smallest section, and what it can and cannot take

• ⭐ 4 mm wide is genuinely small — ⭐ narrower than the Micro profile's channel, and the finest line Domus offers.
• ⭐ It suits a shadow gap, a stair nosing, a shelf edge or a mirror surround — ⭐ places where the light should read as a line in the architecture rather than as a fitting on it.
• ⚠ The width is a hard limit. ⭐ A narrow flex or strip and nothing else — ⛔ and no maximum strip width is published, ⭐ so confirm before ordering. A strip a fraction too wide simply will not seat.
• ⚠ At 8 mm deep it is also shallow. ⭐ With NEON FLEX that does not matter — ⭐ flex is already a diffused line. ⛔ With bare strip it is the most dot-prone Pleo section, ⭐ and the 10 × 10 is the better choice.

⭐ Recessed or surface, and powder coat on request

⭐ One part does both mountings — ⚠ unusual here, where the Nova and Micro families sell them separately. ⭐ And the polished aluminium finish can be powder coated on request to a specified colour, ⭐ which on a 4 mm profile matters more than it sounds: at this size the profile is meant to disappear into the surface it sits in, and a matched colour is what makes that work. ⚠ A polished aluminium line in a dark reveal is visible when the light is off.
