⭐ Why side-emitting flex exists — and it is geometry, not preference

• ⭐ A strip of flex is a flat ribbon. ⭐ It bends easily in one direction and resists the other — ⭐ exactly like a steel tape measure, which curls along its length but will not bend sideways.
• ⭐ A TOP-VIEW flex emits from its wide face. ⭐ Bending it the easy way keeps the face pointing where you want it — ⭐ which is why it suits a cove, a straight run or a curve in section.
• ⚠ Bending a top-view flex flat on a plane — following a curve drawn on a floor or a wall — means bending the hard way. ⛔ It resists, and it TWISTS: the emitting face rolls over so the light points sideways at the start of the curve and upward at the end. ⭐ The result reads as a fault.
• ⭐ A SIDE-VIEW flex emits from its EDGE. ⭐ So the direction you need it to bend is the easy direction — ⭐ and the emitting edge stays pointing outward all the way round.
• ⭐ THE TEST: draw your run. If the curve is on a flat plane you can walk on or lean against, you need SIDE view. ⭐ If it is straight, or curves like a ribbon standing on edge, TOP view.
