The Domus NOVA-20 SM is a surface-mounted aluminium LED profile, sold per metre — with a flat opal PMMA diffuser and end caps, in three finishes.

⭐ “& Ec” means end caps — and on a per-metre product, how many is a real question
  • ⭐ Every Domus profile title ends “C/W ... Diff & Ec” — ⭐ complete with the diffuser and end caps. ⛔ No listing says how many end caps, or whether the count follows the metres.
  • ⭐ It matters because the arithmetic is not obvious. ⭐ A single 2 m run needs TWO caps. ⭐ Two separate 1 m runs need FOUR — ⚠ the same metreage, twice the caps. ⭐ And a 5 m run made from two pieces needs only two, because the joint is butted rather than capped.

What does "& Ec" mean in the title?

End caps. Every Domus profile title ends "C/W ... Diff & Ec" — complete with the diffuser and end caps. What no listing says is how many end caps, or whether the count follows the metres you order.

Why does the count matter?

Because the arithmetic is not obvious. A single 2m run needs two caps. Two separate 1m runs need four — the same metreage, twice the caps. And a 5m run made from two pieces needs only two, because the joint is butted rather than capped. So a per-metre order cannot infer the cap count from the metres.

What should I tell you when ordering?

The number of runs as well as the total length. That is the figure that sets the cap count, and it is the one piece of information a per-metre order does not carry. It takes a sentence and avoids the most common shortfall on a profile job.

What happens if I am short a cap?

An uncapped profile end shows the raw extrusion, the strip and the wiring. Under a bench at eye level that is the first thing anyone notices, and a missing cap on a Friday afternoon stops the job. It is a small part with a disproportionate effect on both the finish and the programme.

Do I need a cap where the run ends into a wall?

Neither. It is complete with the flat opal PMMA diffuser and end caps. It is for the Domus IP54 strip range, with a remote driver that needs somewhere accessible to live — a driver in a sealed cavity is one you cannot replace, and it fails before the LEDs do.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
