How do I choose between all the Domus profiles?

On two numbers, and only one of them is in the name. Width decides which strip fits and therefore the output. Depth decides whether the strip reads as a continuous line or a row of dots. The families run from the Micro at 8 x 9mm, through the Nova-17, 20 and 24, to the Omega-17 at 15mm deep and the square BLOC and round CURVE profiles at around 19.7mm.

Where does the Nova-20 sit?

It is the all-rounder of the set: enough width for a normal strip, enough depth to blend it, and a 3m length that means fewer joints than the Nova-24's 2.5m. If you have no specific constraint pushing you elsewhere, this is the sensible default of the family.

When would I choose something else?

The Omega-17 if the run is seen close and evenness matters more than reveal height — at 15mm deep it gives the most even line of the family. The Micro if you need the narrowest possible reveal, though it takes only PLEX-MICRO strip. The Corner-16 for corners and 45 degree reveals. And the CURVE if you want a lit tube rather than a lit slot, which is a different look entirely.

Does surface mounting need any preparation?

None — no routing, no groove, and it retrofits into finished joinery. That also means the unpublished width of this range costs you nothing here, since you are not cutting anything to fit it. What it does need is a straight run: the clips hold the profile true but cannot straighten a bowed shelf, and a wave in the substrate shows in the line of light.

Is the 3m length reliable?

Yes. The title says 3m and the order code in its body is LP-2010-SM-3M, so they agree. That is not true everywhere in the Nova family — the Nova-17 recessed listings say 2.5m in the title and carry a 3M code, which is a real conflict.

Does it come with a strip?

No, and no driver. It is complete with the flat opal PMMA diffuser and end caps. It is designed for the Domus IP54 strip range. Tell us the run lengths and we will quote all three parts together so nothing arrives without its partner.

What finish should I choose?

Match the substrate rather than the room. A white profile on a white carcass disappears; an aluminium one on white does not. Under a shelf the profile is seen from below at close range, which is exactly where a mismatch is obvious.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
