The Domus NOVA-20 REC is a recessed aluminium LED profile — 3 m, with a flat opal PMMA diffuser and end caps, in three finishes, cut to length.

⛔ This range publishes no dimensions anywhere — and here is why that happened
  • ⭐ Domus sells its profiles under two product categories. ⭐ The “LED Profiles” listings carry order codes, diffuser choices and lengths but no datasheet; ⭐ a smaller set of “Aluminium Profile” listings carry the datasheets and the actual dimensions.
  • ⛔ NOVA-17 has both. NOVA-24 has both. NOVA-20 has only the first. ⭐ Four listings, no datasheet, no dimension fields, nothing in the descriptions.
  • ⭐ So the only figure published for this range is the one in its own name: 20 × 10 mm. ⚠ And we have measured that the number in a Domus profile title means different things in different ranges — ⭐ the channel on the Micro, the profile on the Nova-17.

⭐ Its length is unambiguous. ⭐ Title says 3 m; the order code in its body is LP-2010-RC-3M. ⭐ They agree — ⚠ unlike the Nova-17 recessed listings, which say 2.5 m in the title and carry a 3M code. ⭐ And 3 m is the longer of the two lengths in this family, which means fewer joints on a long run: a 6 m line is two pieces here and three on the Nova-24.

⭐ The middle size, and when it is the right one

⭐ Nova-20 sits between the 17 and the 24. ⭐ At around 10 mm deep it gets the blending benefit the shallow Nova-17 does not have — ⭐ the depth between LED and diffuser is what stops a strip reading as a row of dots. ⭐ And at 20 mm it takes a wider strip than the Nova-17 without the reveal of a Nova-24. ⭐ Combined with the 3 m length, it is the best of this family for a long, clean, evenly lit line.

Why are there no dimensions for this range?

Because of how Domus splits its profile listings. The "LED Profiles" listings carry order codes, diffuser choices and lengths but no datasheet; a smaller set of "Aluminium Profile" listings carry the datasheets and the actual dimensions. The Nova-17 has both and the Nova-24 has both — the Nova-20 has only the first. Four listings, no datasheet, no dimension fields, nothing in the descriptions.

Can I rely on the 20 x 10mm in the name?

Not as a routing dimension. We measured that the number in a Domus profile title means different things in different ranges — it is the channel on the Micro, where the profile is 2.9mm wider, and the profile on the Nova-17, where the surface width is exactly 17mm. So the name tells you roughly what size family you are in, not what to cut.

What can you tell me about the real size?

From its neighbours, offered as reasoning rather than fact. The Nova-24 at "24 x 10" publishes 11mm deep, and the Nova-17 at "17 x 7" publishes 8mm — in both cases the real depth runs about 1mm over the name. Neither. It is complete with the flat opal PMMA diffuser and end caps. It is designed for the Domus IP54 strip range. Tell us the run lengths and we will quote profile, strip and driver together.

How many joints will a long run need?

At 3m maximum, a 6m line is two pieces and one joint, and a 9m line is three pieces and two joints. Plan where the joints fall rather than leaving it to the installer — over a cabinet division or at a corner rather than mid-span, because a joint on a continuous lit line is the thing the eye finds.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
