Why do I keep finding the same profile under different names?

Because it is sold as nine listings across two product categories. Seven sit under "LED Profiles" with order codes and diffuser and length variants; two sit under "Aluminium Profile" with different titles, no order code, and no length in the name. Nothing on any listing points at any other, so a buyer has no way to know the others exist.

Does it matter which one I buy?

For the product, no — they are the same extrusion. For information, yes: the two under "Aluminium Profile" are the only ones carrying a datasheet, which is where the profile dimensions come from. So the seven detailed listings lack the one document, and the two documented ones lack the detail. This page carries the figures from both.

Is it 17mm or 23mm?

Both, and they do different jobs. The recessed profile is 23mm across because it has a flange — a lip that sits on the surface. The surface version of the same profile is 17mm, because it has no flange to add. The strip channel inside is 17 x 7mm in both cases.

What is the flange for?

It covers the edge of your groove, so a cut that is a millimetre rough disappears under it. That is genuinely useful on site. Without a flange the groove edge is the finished edge and it has to be clean, which is a higher standard than most joinery routing achieves first time.

What width do I actually rout?

Not the flange width. The groove needs the body width plus a working tolerance, and the datasheet gives outside dimensions. Confirm the exact routing dimension with us before the joinery is cut — this is the one number that cannot be corrected afterwards.

Does it come with a strip?

No, and no driver either. It is complete with the black diffuser and end caps. It is designed for the Domus IP54 strip range. Tell us the run lengths and we will quote all three parts together so nothing arrives without its partner.

Why buy per metre rather than a fixed length?

Because it suits several short runs better than a single stick does — you are quoting metreage across a job rather than one continuous piece. Both are cut to order in any case. Tell us the run lengths and we will work out which listing prices your job properly.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
