The Domus MURO-MAX-32 is a 32 W twin-head exterior spotlight in black or white — IP65, 3,600 lumens, CRI above 90, die-cast aluminium with a glass cover, and no sensor.
This is the switched version. Its twin, the MURO-MAX-32S, is the same fitting with a sensor. Same 32 W, same 3,600 lm, same CRI 90, same 100° beam, same body. The only difference is how it turns on — and that is a bigger decision than it sounds.
✅ A common and sensible arrangement is one of each — a sensor fitting covering the approach, and a switched one over the area you actually work in.
IP65 — dust tight and protected against water jets, so driving rain and hosing are within rating. Die-cast aluminium with a glass cover, more robust than polycarbonate and better at holding its finish — ⚠ though for a coastal site the polycarbonate MURO-ECO is the better body, since aluminium can corrode at the coating edges and polycarbonate cannot.
30,000 hours, not dimmable. Colour set on a dip switch at the back, before installation. Warranty 3 years.
Twin head, no sensor, die-cast aluminium with a glass cover, black or white. 32 W COB LED giving 3,500 / 3,600 / 3,300 lm at 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, dip switch at the back; CRI >90, beam 100°, 30,000 hrs, not dimmable. 240 V AC, IP65 — dust tight, protected against water jets. A sensor version, the MURO-MAX-32S, is available. Warranty 3 years.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
The sensor, and nothing else. Same 32 W, same 3,600 lumens, same CRI 90, same 100° beam, same body. This one is switched; the -32S has a built-in sensor. No page explained that the two adjacent products differ in exactly one way.
Choose on how the light will be used. Switched stays on until you turn it off, which is what you want for a work area, an entertaining space or a carport you are unloading in — a sensor timing out mid-task is genuinely irritating. It also lets you put it on a timer, smart switch or photocell of your own choosing. The sensor version is better for security and arrival: light when something moves, dark otherwise. A common and sensible arrangement is one of each.
At 3,600 lumens across two heads with a 100° beam it covers a driveway, a back yard or a work area rather than just a doorway. It is bright enough to be a nuisance if aimed badly, so point it down and look at the result from a neighbour’s boundary before you leave.
Two things. Planting reads green rather than grey — most exterior fittings sit in the seventies. And work is easier: under a low-CRI light, colour-coded cabling, paint, timber and fasteners are harder to tell apart, so over a workbench or carport it is a practical benefit rather than a decorative one.
The polycarbonate MURO-ECO is the better body for a coastal site — aluminium can corrode at the coating edges where salt gets in, and polycarbonate cannot. This one is die-cast aluminium with a glass cover, which is more robust and holds its finish better away from salt.
No. Colour temperature is selectable on a dip switch at the back before installation, but the output is not adjustable.
Split them — one across the driveway and one down the side path gives two useful pools from a single wiring point. Overlap them only where you want shadows killed, such as above a back door or a bench. Aim them at night.
