The Domus Muro Eco 20 is a 20 W twin-head exterior LED spotlight — 2 × 10 W, three switchable colour temperatures, IP65, in a polycarbonate and glass body for coastal exposure.

How long will it last?

Domus publishes 30,000 hours, which is worth noting because most of their products publish no rated life at all — the linear pendant ranges publish none. At 4 hours a night on a sensor circuit that is around 20 years; on a dusk-to-dawn circuit running 10 hours a night it is about 8. So the control strategy matters more than the fitting for how long it lasts.

Does a sensor really make that much difference?

It more than doubles the service life against dusk-to-dawn on those numbers, and it is the cheapest change you can make. A sensor circuit also means the light is doing something when it is on, rather than burning through its rated hours lighting an empty driveway. Worth specifying at the same time as the fitting.

What makes it suitable for the coast?

The body. It is polycarbonate and glass, so there is no metal to corrode — a powder-coated aluminium fitting within a few hundred metres of surf will eventually blister and corrode at the fixings, and polycarbonate has nothing to corrode. IP65 also means it can be hosed, which matters because rinsing salt off is the single most effective thing you can do to extend the life of any coastal fitting.

Does the output change with the colour temperature?

What does IP65 cover?

Dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, which means full weather exposure rather than a covered position. It is the rating you want for an exposed wall, a driveway or a garage front, and it is what allows the fitting to be hosed down.

What is the warranty?

Three years, replacement type. Note that the rated life of 30,000 hours is not a warranty — it is a design figure for when output has degraded to a defined fraction of the original, not a period of cover.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
