The Domus MIRROR-15 is an 860 mm LED vanity light — 15 W, tri-colour switchable, 1590–1845 lm, IP40, in satin brass.

  • ⭐ 1590 lm at 3000 K, 1718 at 4000 K, 1845 at 5700 K. ⭐ Switching from warm to cool gains 255 lm — about 16% — from the same 15 W.
  • ⭐ That is the widest spread of the three sizes, ⚠ and there is no obvious reason it should be — ⭐ the 10 W gains 13% and the 20 W only 10%. ⭐ Nothing published explains it; it is simply how the three are rated.
  • ⭐ The practical consequence: if you want the most light this fitting can give, 5700 K is worth 255 lm over 3000 K — ⚠ and if you want warm light you are accepting the lowest output of the three settings.
  • ⭐ At 4000 K it gives 1718 lm at 115 lm/W — ⭐ which is the setting we would take over a mirror, and it sits almost exactly between the two extremes.

How much does the colour setting change the brightness?

On this size, more than on either other. 3000K gives 1590 lumens, 4000K 1718 and 5700K 1845 — so warm to cool gains 255 lumens, about 16%, from the same 15W. The 10W version gains 13% and the 20W only 10%. Nothing published explains why the middle size has the widest spread; it is simply how the three are rated.

So which setting should I choose?

4000K over a bathroom mirror. It gives 1718 lumens at 115 lumens per watt, sits almost exactly between the two extremes, and is neutral enough to judge skin tone honestly while not feeling clinical. If you want the most light this fitting can give, 5700K is worth 255 lumens over warm — and if you want warm light, you are accepting the lowest output of the three.

Can I change the setting later?

Only by getting to the fitting. It is a small DIP switch on the side end cap, not a wall control and not an app — set at installation. Above a mirror that usually means a ladder and a screwdriver, so it is worth deciding before the electrician leaves.

Can I put it in a shower or over a bath?

No. It is IP40, and the second digit of an IP rating is the water one — zero means no protection against water at all. Above a basin mirror on a dry wall is what it is designed for. Your electrician sets out the bathroom zones on site.

Is it dimmable?

No, and Domus states it plainly. A dimmer will give you flicker or nothing rather than dimming, and can shorten the fitting's life. If you want a low evening level in the room, that has to come from a separate circuit.

What size mirror does 860mm suit?

A 900 to 1200mm vanity mirror sits well under it. The range steps with the vanity: 580mm for the 10W, 860mm here, and 1140mm for the 20W. As a rule the fitting looks best a little narrower than the mirror rather than matching it exactly.

What is it made of?

A ridged aluminium body with a tubular opal-frost polycarbonate diffuser, on chrome adjustable knuckles. The opal-frost diffuser is what stops it reading as a bright line in a mirror, which matters more here than in most positions — you look directly at this fitting every time you use the mirror.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations
