⭐ Does a curved pendant belong in an office? Mostly no — with two exceptions

• ⚠ Benching is rectilinear. ⭐ Desks are rectangles in rows, and a curved fitting over a straight bench diverges from it — ⚠ so the desks at the ends get less light and the geometry reads as a mistake. ⭐ For benching, the Maxi 50 is the right range — ⭐ same output, same CRI90, same everything except the shape.
• ⭐ EXCEPTION ONE: reception and breakout. ⭐ Reception desks are frequently curved, and breakout furniture is rarely rectilinear — ⭐ so a curve there relates to something rather than fighting it. ⭐ And these are the parts of an office where the lighting is meant to be seen.
• ⭐ EXCEPTION TWO: as a deliberate contrast. ⭐ One curved fitting in an otherwise rectilinear floor is a marker — ⭐ it says “this is a different kind of space”, which is useful over a collaboration table or a focus room. ⚠ But it only works as a singular gesture; ⭐ several become a pattern that has to be resolved.
• ⚠ What does NOT work is a curve chosen because it looked interesting — ⭐ in a rectilinear space it reads as an error unless it is clearly doing something.

⭐ Where the office specification stands up

⭐ Take PRISMATIC rather than the honeycomb over screens on this range — ⭐ a honeycomb's cut-off is measured relative to the fitting axis, and on a curve that axis rotates along its length, ⚠ so its behaviour depends on a radius nobody publishes. ⭐ Prismatic does not have that problem.
