What should I ask before specifying this?

Six things, and the first answers most of them. Is the curve in plan or in section? If in plan, what radius? Is the stated 1200mm the arc length or the chord? Can it be oriented either way? How does it hang level — are the suspension points on the arc? And do several form a continuous sweep or is each an independent segment? Which question do people miss?

Whether the stated length is the arc or the chord. On a curved fitting a length is ambiguous: 1200mm measured along the curve occupies less than 1200mm of straight wall or table, and how much less depends on a radius nobody publishes. So the published 1200mm cannot be set out against furniture with confidence until that is answered.

Why does question one answer most of the others?

Because if the curve is in section — a rounded diffuser face on a straight fitting — questions two to six all disappear. It sets out exactly like a straight pendant, the 1200mm is simply 1200mm, the suspension points are in a straight line, and orientation does not arise. Only a curve in plan creates the rest of the list.

Is the rest of the specification complete?

Yes. Output, colour rendering, ingress rating, beam, suspension drop, light engine, dimming options and warranty are all published — 2160 lumens, CRI90, IP20, 120 degrees down only, a 3m drop and 3 years replacement. It is only the geometry the range is named for that is missing, which is an unusual shape for a gap to take.

Why black at 3000K?

A black body against a dark or exposed ceiling disappears, so the room sees the warm line and not the fitting. And CRI90 at 3000K gives warm light that still renders honestly, which is not the usual pairing — most commercial linear at this colour temperature publishes CRI80, where reds flatten.

Which finish in a hospitality room?

Opal or frosted. Opal gives the most uniform face and suits a fitting seen close and side-on; frosted gives more output above head height. Prismatic and honeycomb are workplace optics and read technical in a bar or restaurant, and clear is an undiffused source over seated guests.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
