Neither, and that is worth knowing. The supplier's sentence names both for the same product, and we measured how far it goes: 34 of the 36 Maxi 50 and Maxi Curve listings contain the same contradiction — 18 of 18 Curve and 16 of 18 Maxi 50. The resolution is that neither range has a diffuser-type option at all.

So where does flat/high/low come from?

The Maxi 40. That range sells flat, high and low diffusers as three separate listings — it is its axis. The Maxi 50 and the Maxi Curve do not offer it, so both words are inherited from Maxi 40 copy and neither applies here. A specifier reading that sentence would reasonably try to specify a diffuser type and find no way to do it.

What do I actually choose on this range?

Four things. Length, body colour and colour temperature each send you to a different listing, and the diffuser finish is the dropdown — prismatic, frosted, honeycomb, opal, black or clear. There is no diffuser type to choose. Quote the order code MAXI-CURVE-1.2M-A-4K plus the finish and everything is settled.

How much light does it give?

2400 lumens at 2000 lumens per metre, or 100 lumens per watt from 24W, at 4000K and CRI90. The 3000K version gives 2160 lumens for the same power, so 4000K is about 11% more — and it is the right colour for desk and bench work anyway.

Which finish over a screen?

The honeycomb — a cellular baffle that blocks light above a cut-off angle, so it removes the high-angle component that reflects in a monitor rather than softening it. Prismatic is the efficient alternative: it redirects that light downward rather than absorbing it, so you keep the output.

Is CRI90 worth having?

It is high for a linear pendant of this kind and above the CRI 80 or better most commercial linear lighting publishes. At 4000K it means neutral light that renders materials, print and finishes honestly, which is what a working space wants.

What is still not published?

What the curve actually is — no listing in the range describes it — plus the rated lifespan, the suspension-point spacing and the weight. The geometry is the significant one: ask us before putting this on a drawing.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
